Very cool spot in a very cool part of town, easily accessible from Vanderbilt, Belmont and some great artistic and residential areas. Good beers, some standards and some which are more creative than most predictable brew-pub styles. Excellent pizzas and salads. Occasional fun events. An all-around great hang.
This is right down the street from my house in Belmont-Hillsboro. Huge open space with high ceilings. A little loud, but the beer was better than expected and the service was good. They also have a members club that allows you to earn points. I’ll certainly be back. I also received 8 sample for $6, which was a great deal.
Went here for ’Jazz Brunch’. Ambiance was great, nice building, nice neighborhood, really good live jazz. Service was pretty slow but the place was hopping so I wasn’t expecting much else. Didn’t try the food, but it looked solid. Selection consists of 4 regular taps and 4 seasonals, most of the beers were pretty blah, but a few good ones. Value was solid, I got 8 3oz samples of their beers for 8 dollars. Overall decent place to check out, but don’t expect mind-blowing beer.
Went on a Saturday night, the place was not real busy. They only have their beers, but several of them were pretty good. The food that we had was also pretty good, especially the bread pudding we had for dessert. The service was real slow, it took 10 minutes just to get the sampler.
I dig this place and always have. Nice atmosphere, great food and great beer. IMO, the Isle of Skye is an outstanding example of a Scottish Ale and the novelty of the Flaming Stone is worth a few tries as well. All in all, this is a must visit when in Nashville, IMO.
Located in the heart of Hillsboro village down the road from the Vanderbilt Univeristy. Big room decorated by large art pictures of their beers. They had 8 things on tap 4 regulars and 4 seasonals. The beers were solid but not spectacular. The service at the bar was not the best. The bartender seems to think it was normal to have fruit flies and gnats in the beer although they did replace it for free. It’s a decent enough place but not any kind of destination.
Great place for a few selections of homemade beers. They aren’t the most amazing beers in the world but they take pride in their brewing and I love their location. Right in the middle of downtown HIllsboro Village. Perfect. Two TV’s in the bar, could use more.. but Go to Sam’s next door if you want to smoke and watch the game. Stick to Boscos for a great Ambiance and great beer and amazing food
Cool ambiance with a good vibe when busy. I wasn’t especially impressed with their beers: about 7 or 8 fairly bland, appeal-to-the-masses sort of brews comprising the bulk of their selection. The food and service was average.
A cool brewpub near the Vanderbilt campus. I was here for a big gathering and had a great time. They had 4 regulars and 4 seasonals on tap when I was there. The pale ale was good and the baltic porter was quite good, so I don’t think the beer is as bad as the ratings seem to indicate. As far as food, I got a chicken bbq pizza which was very tasty. Overall, a chill place, decent to good beer, and good food. I think it’s worth a stop.
