As far as restaurant/brewpubs, this place sits behind Blackstone for certain. I sometimes start here and then move on to Blackstone for more beer and better food. Iíve fund that Blackstone typically has better beer for this type of place, but am always happy to try thiers out. Again... this is a sampler place for me. I just love samplers.
Went here for íJazz Brunchí. Ambiance was great, nice building, nice neighborhood, really good live jazz. Service was pretty slow but the place was hopping so I wasnít expecting much else. Didnít try the food, but it looked solid. Selection consists of 4 regular taps and 4 seasonals, most of the beers were pretty blah, but a few good ones. Value was solid, I got 8 3oz samples of their beers for 8 dollars. Overall decent place to check out, but donít expect mind-blowing beer.
As a native, when I go to a brewpub for beer, I go to Yazoo. But if Iím going for a meal this is my top choice. Varied menu with more choices and variety than other Nashville brewpubs. The layout is odd in that the bar is half-walled off from the restaurant, giving the bar a cozy feel at the expense of the rest of the room. Beers are solid but unremarkable, most are flavorful but not exciting. Service is generally good at the bar and mediocre in the restaurant section, though the latter could be the result of late-hour short-staffing.
