After a success at Paul’s Liquor I though what the hey, maybe Bottle Liquor will also be a diamond in the rough. It wasn’t bad but not amazing by any means. They do have a large selection so they have that going for them. They also have some good looking food at the deli counter and their location in Morro Bay. Realistically they probably don’t have a lot to work with in terms of distribution but I guess what they have isn’t bad and they probably do a reasonable job of turning the locals onto better beer. I guess I’m just spoiled and don’t remember what it was like to be amazed to find Chimay at a store.

On to the real review. Most the CA regulars are here as are the locals (Tap It and Figueroa Mountain) and some imports but they seem more focused on the California beers than the imports. Probably for the best. Prices are reasonable. The employees are happy to talk but only some of them know anything about the beer. Plenty of parking and right around the corner from what will likely become Morro Bay’s newest brewery (The Libertine).

Bottle shop, small grocery store and cafe, all in one. Beer selection as expected, nothing more. Lots of Californian regular and easy for an European to find some new local breweries. Some small singles as well. (Visited July 14th 2016)
