Just realised that Iíve never got round to entering (most of) my Bermondsey place reviews so here goes. Visited many times. Itís a well stocked bottle shop with some taps thrown in spread over two floors. Compred to some of the Bermondsey places thereís acres of space but it can still get busy. They often have tap takeovers featuring well regarded brewers. Whatís not to like? Well, itís less chaotic than it was at the outset but itís still not the most user friendly set up for buying bottles. It takes a fair bit of ferreting about to work out what they have. Personally, I tend to stick to having a drink from the taps but thatís partly because itís towards the start fo the Bermondsey run and I donít really want to be lugging around loads of bottles anyway. But, to be honest, I donít hit Bermondsey often these days beacuse it has got too busy fpr my taste. All in all a bit of a curateís egg but and essential stop on the Bermondsey run.

Popped in here, nice use of the railway arch. Nice selection of bottles, seemed to focus on foreign craft. Bottles can be taken out or consumed on site. Taps both upstairs and down, spartan seating.

Stop number 3 on the Beer Mile. Fantastic selection of beers, especially in bottle. A bit less crowded than the breweries on the mile.

This is a nice little bottle shop located within about a 1-2 minute walk of Anspach & Hobday. Good craft selection here in bottles and cans along with some drafts as well. Could happily be either a store or a bar depending on your need. The woman working behind the bar was friendly and happy to talk beer. It was a nice day, and they had some outdoor seating available, which is always a nice bonus. We were going to be out for a good while after, so I didnít purchase any bottles here, but I certainly would have were I headed back straight after.

Very basic interior, not many people during our visit. Very good selection, caught Bomb and Abstrakt on tap. Stayed a bit longer than I expected due to the interesting taps. Also really good bottle selection. Worth visiting.

Just realised I never rated this. This placed is tucked into a railway arch few doors from Anspach & Hobday brewery. It develops on two floors, with a large bottle selection, wooden benches/tables and 5-6 taps downstairs, 5-6 taps, some wooden benches/tables and sofas upstairs. Selection is very diverse and broad, with often some gems from the States, both in bottle and on draft. You will pay pretty penny for the fancy bottles but it has to be said I never felt ripped off for the quality / access to harder to find beers. The tap list is also generally varying from interesting to very interesting, with often tap takeovers. Usually open on Friday nights and Saturday, they also organise some intra-week events. Bottom line, with time this place has become a staple in all my Bermondsey visits, with a selection which always offers something new and interesting.

What was once a small Kent shop with a basic but well manned website is now a major concern in the Bermondsey mile. Unfortunately the website has utterly gone to hell, itís inaccurate, non functional and very unfriendly and now gets my award as the worst beer website online. I did complain about how bad it was to owner Andrew but despite acceptance of most of my criticisms, nothing has changed and as a consequence they no longer get any online business from me, whereas I was once a regular. The Bermondsey bottleshop is a better propsition by far but the staff vary from expert to pretty much clueless and you never know what you are going to get. On a bad day I have been unable to buy beers here because staff did not have a Danny La Rue how much they cost! On a good day I have had great conversations wity very knowledgable beer afficionados. There is a good selection of beers here and some real diamonds amid the usual import common fayre can be found but only now and again Like any diamonds they take some mining for and nothing short of a thorough visual search of the fridges (with their bowed wobbly shelves) will do. The printed lists are almost always out of date and most unhelpfully ordered by style instead of brewer. But the effort pays off when you find something unique, you just have to hope they know how much it is so you can actually buy it. If you can buy it then expect to pay a premium. Upstairs you can find some good stuff on tap. But I have found service to be quite slow due to over indulgence of fuckwit punters who want to try every beer and have a long conversation about it before finally.commiting themselves. The same fuckwits often block the whole bar even when there are dozens of seats available. Itís a normal Bermondsey hazard but it does seem to happen more than usual at this place. All in all a pretty mixed bag then. Buying beers here on a good day can be a real pleasure but itís as often a bit of a chore. The shop would get a 70 off me but the abysmal website cheeses me off so that brings it down quite a few points.

Really good bottleshop next to Anpach&Hobday. Quite a good selection in fridges as you enter the place. Selection of british, swedish, belgian and american beers. Further inside you find even more. Good variety on the beers and prices are ok. Good place to buy bottles in London.

(Visited Nov 2015) Good beer shop turned into beer bar just next to Anspach & Hobday. Two bars, one in street level and one upstairs with other beers, all in all 10 interesting keg beers from craft breweries from around the world. Really good bottle selection. Wooden benches and tables upstairs. Wasnít quite as packed as some of the nearby breweries, so managed to get a seat. Friendly and knowledgeable service. Worth a visit.
