This is one of the nicer locations to grab a beer in Shanghai. It’s easy to while away time out in the leafy courtyard when the weather is in fine form. A converted three level brick pub with another bar, seating and pool table on the upper floor. Along with the BCB core beers there’s usually a seasonal pouring. Bottles of their barreled stuff show up from time to time so it’s worth asking about any new releases. Food is the same menu as the Sinan Mansions pub and I find the quality much better here. Staff provide sufficient service as there is usually plenty of wait staff on hand but don’t expect they’ll know anything about the beers. A top pick for Shanghai. Closest metro stop:- Shanghai Library.
Solid place to go. I had the Southpaw Winter Warmer and the TKO IPA, both of which were solid. I also had a good sandwich. I also had a Rochefort 10, which was one a few bottles they had in addition to the Boxing Cat beers. Had an NFL game from week 3 of the NFL season on, which was about 14 weeks before I visited, but at least it appeared there was some appreciation for American sports here. I like the feeling of the place, the food is good, and the Boxing Cat beers are solid from what I sampled. Waitstaff struggled a bit with English, but overall was good and attentive. It helped that I was the only person in the place when I arrived at around 4:30PM on a Friday. Definitely worth a visit.
Visited here on 30 September and have been here before. Draft beers are great and good value in happy hour (from opening until 8pm) at Y35. Decent service. Food ok, had the classic burger which was fine.
Nice place in Shanghai. Good service and good food. 6 beers on tap with good quality.

The beer brewed here was generally very good to excellent with 6 selections on tap (I had the sampler of all 6). I had the BCB burger for dinner and it was fantastic. One of the best burgers I have had anywhere. The prices are not unreasonable either. The inside was a little crowded which was the only down side.
6 beers on tap that rotate often. Pay particular attention to the Boxers Choice beers which range greatly in style. A must visit in Shanghai. They also carry a nice bottle beer selection. The food portions are very good for the price. Great garden patio if the weather accommodates!
