Went to Fantome by myself today, sent Dan an E-mail yesterday asking when it would be ok to stop by and had a reply very quick that I could go today. Gave me a brief tour of the place then let me hang out and have a few beers off tap (both were great) and watch he and his wife bottle some beer as well. Left with a nice case full of different examples of Fantome to enjoy at home.
A very small brewery with bar in the Ardennes. This is the most artisanal brewery you can think of. The ambiance and the atmosphere are rustic, familiar, nice, not only in the tavern, but also in the brewery. Excellent, friendly service, Dany and the lady that was there were really nice. Two beers on tap, some bottles and some other non alcoholic beverages in the fridge. Lost in the Ardennes, not easily reachable, but a place that deserves a visit or more.

Small farmhouse brewery in Luxembourg Province, sends 96% of its beers to the USA. Giselle, la serveuse artisinale, was extraordinarily friendly, as were the clientele. DanyP and a friend from Luxembourg (the country) showed me around the brewery, a cozy and interesting place, full of character. Two beers on tap when I visited, the regular saison and the Chocolat. Well worth the visit, for the beers on tap, and for the conversation! Bravo, Dany. The annual barbecue for charity, around the weekend of 15 August, is a hoot.
This place is legendary!
Dan is the man! A can’t miss location on any tour in the Ardennes, Dany with his unassuming, affable and modest manner makes this place a favourite and a real experience!
Great atmsophere and a great part of Belgium to be in.
Well done Dany! A true Artisinale brewery.
Oh and Dany also sells great chocolate made locally.
A strange place to go with the strange beer - I loved both!

If you have visit planned with DanyP the place is great and you will need a car Only Fantome products are available and take them as they are sometimes stellar and sometimes not. The house saison was amazing the day I was there and hope you can speak French.

I made a trip to this brewery about 1 year ago. I had contacted Dany beforehand and he was available on a Sunday for a tour and tasting. I was the only "tourist" but his niece was there too. They were both very friendly and helpful as we all got around our broken English and French very smoothly.
We traded bottles and coasters and Dany was every bit the wonderful host. Highly recommended-email beforehand though.
