This rating is for there own beers. They are in a very good kvality and are teastful. restaurant is also very good but you must reserv a table our sit in the bar downstairs. But lookout for the turist Groups they are lot of them!!!
Awesome historic building, with multiple story brewery with a bunch of narrow staircases and winding turns. It used to have a malt house attached too, but they have contracted that out at this point. Impressive tour that was expansive and very fun. The guy giving the tour had some bad humor that turned misogynistic at times. The restaurant was really nice, with all the beers they make seasonally available. A cool spot.
Visited the 11th November with friends for brewery tour - Nice brewery to visit. Great explanation and nice brewery tour. Highly recommended to discover how to do beer. After the tour, there was sample to taste at the bar. Good ambiance . Nice place. Highly recommended.
The small shop is not really worth it. Very limited amount of different beers available considering we are at the source. To be improved on! The restaurant is very nice though. Friendly service and speedy, both in serving food and getting beers. Not too packed and an overall slick appearance. Not too ’artificial’. The ’burger’ was effectively a veal meatball on a bun but absolutely delicious and serviced with fresh greens and home made fries... we would come back just for this! And that is a bit the main reason to come back, unfortunately, because after 1 new beer there was nothing more to tick. That’s what you get when only a mere 10 beers are available. Those are nice Belgian brews, but doesn’t even the most average Belgian beer drinker want to try something new now and then? Still, when we have friends over we might return here. And a very nice place to rate on itself. Prices a a tat high, but it highly depends on what you get.
This rating is for both the shop and the bar/restaurant. Shop is very small, with a very low availability of their beers. Prices aren’t that much better then regular beer shops. Not worth the effort of going over. Restaurant is cosy. Very quick and friendly service. Lots of locals. Possibility to have tasting flights, which is nice (5 for 9 euro). We had the burger, which was really fresh and well cooked, most certainly recommended! Overall, this is a nice place, stop by if you’re in the neighbourhood, but it’s not worth a detour.
Brief walk from the city centre, perfectly okay walk from both stations. Closer to a major road etc. rather than a small street or something like I expected but that is just me. Mainstream decent wood appearance, decorated with the brewery logos. Tavern / Bistro feel to it. Focus seems to be completely on food, all seats were actually reserved for eating, I got a place to drink next to a barrel. If you are looking to eat here be sure to make a reservation. I glanced through the menu, no vegan options it seemed, more vegetarian options than usual it seems but all of them were very heavy on cheese. Even the crackers that I got with my beer tasted of cheese, enough that I didn’t try a second one, I didn’t double-check. Beers available are the regular Anker line-up with the addition their Pils which I have never seen before. Little new for me but some of the beers available, I rarely see on draft. They also have their whisky which is very delicious. Service was friendly & helpful. It was slightly weird that people who took the order couldn’t accept my money etc. but that wasn’t an issue, just a bit odd. Nothing special here but good for people looking for tavern-style food with some nice beers at good prices.
