As the name suggests this brewery-restaurant is next to St. Thomas Church in the heart of Leipzig. Although it’s a big restaurant on a Friday night 9pm it’s full. It seems to be popular place by the locals. They have 4 beers on tap (Pils, Märzen, Bock and Schwarz). All pretty tasty. The food is Italian, we didn’t have any.
Nice Italien Restaurant with a brewpub. The beers are nice, the service is fast. The food was great. As it was crowded, the atmosphere was still ok. Never had such a fast service in a crowd like that. Their beers aren’t something that special, but especially their Schwarzbier is very nice. Also they brew nice seasonal beers.
Definitively worth a visit - if you like Italien food :)
Toutistic place just in front of the Thomaskirche. Brewery, gelateria, pizzeria, café all together. It’s not the kind of place we ratebeerians are looking for, but at least a nice stop after visiting the Church and the Bachmuseum. three beers on tap, nothing special. Service is fast
Large brewpub, lots if eating space and a decent sized bar area, if all a bit piney. Standard 3 on tap, staff are tourist friendly and nothing more, beers are decent quality. Didn’t try the food but it smelled ok. Bang in the centre of town so difficult to miss.
Centrally located brewpub with a more or less traditional German interior and Italian cuisine. Service was a tad dodgy, the beers were good but a far cry from what one can get at the Bayerischer Bahnhof. Didn’t have food. Worth a visit but not a detour.
Visited the Thomaskirche during an overnight stop in Leipzg in ’09.
Central location and that’s pretty much all it has going for it.
80’s feel to the decor, pretty naff - checkered bench cushions and cheap wood - you know the deal. Kept expecting some bloke in a biege suit and a moustache/mullet combo to burst out from beihnd a door and belt out some early 80’s Euro pop nonsense.
Clientele ws largely middle aged diners when we visited (for beers only).
Middle aged grumpy frau waitress - not impressed we weren’t eating!
Tried both beers that were on tap that night - both inoffesive but boring.
Wouldn’t go out of my way for this place other than for the rates!
