Visited this huge brewpub on a Wednesday at noon. It looks rather old-fashioned with lots of wooden interior and has some tables outside as well. Although rather empty that day, the Köbesse were already busy. I bought a few bottles at the awkward counter. The guy behind the counter wasn’t really friendly or helpful, I don’t think he really wanted to sell anything but at least I got what I wanted at a reasonable price. Selection is of course limited to their own stuff, but apart from the regular Alt it includes their Weizen, Weihnachtsbier (around Christmas), non-alcoholic Alt and at the moment the two barrel-aged beers.
Quite a spacious, dimly lit, traditional Niederrhein brewpub with the beer poured from wooden barrels. The food looked good but I did not have any. The place is filled with the scent of roasted pig which was good for me, but vegentarians would have a hard time here. Excellent beer, a bit snappy waiter. On a Thursday at 1 p.m. it was already almost full.
Visited in the evening on Good Friday 2015. This is a large and lovely German Beer hall. The place was packed with friendly locals. The food was tasty and the Altbier was the second best during my visit to Düsseldorf. The service was fast and polite. A must visit when in Düsseldorf.
Visited wed 4th March .. Nice place in the city centre but just as others .. The problem is that their Alt is a bit more anonymous than others .. But for sure worth to include it in a dussendorf pub crawl ..
Visited on a Thursday afternoon. Short walking distance from Schlüssel, Zum Uerige and Kürzer. Large traditionnal place with a bunch of seating inside, but it was completely full at 16:00. We managed to find a place outside. Service was quick (a little less than in other German places) but super rude. My girlfriend had their house lemonade (which was really good), but he seemed really upset that she didn’t took a beer. Bastard. We had another server after who was much more respectful. Their Alt was average. We didn’t try the food. Price were in line with other places at 1,90 euros / 25 cl. The least interesting Alt place I visited while in town, but I will give a 2nd chance if I came back in town.
