Visited late on a Friday night. Nice, traditional brewpub close to centre of town. We were actually staying here (they have a number of rooms available above the pub / brewery) and can say that the rooms are very clean and spacious, well worth the money and the place is quite centrally located, continental breakfast was very good. We were slightly too late to order meals from the main menu (only available until 9pm), so we ordered from the snack menu. I had a goulash soup, which was pretty good. The only house beer that we tried was the rauch märzen, which was very good. Note that the hefeweizen that they serve here is actually from Maisels (this is one of my favourite beers but it was a bit disappointing that they don’t have their own). Service was typical German (efficient but not terribly friendly), though they did bend the rules a bit for us, so that one of our party could get a meal from the main menu. Definitely worth a visit.
One of the classic Franconian beer experiences. A rustic old house with wooden tables, the waiter asks if you want a beer (a smoked one, of course) and if you want a different one, you better say that quickly. Both the smoked and the ungespundet are worth a try though.

Beautiful old place centrally located between the train station and the old town. Don’t miss out on the Ungespundet! Fast and friendly service. There were some local musicians playing in the garden when we were there. A place where you can relax and spend quite some time. An absolute must-visit!
Such a special place. Decor is beautiful and tasteful, food is fantastic and the beers are so moreish. We went a second time to lap it up. Scherlenkerla is almost too over the top (But still lovely), this is just Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
