Nice beerpub with ca 10 Lemke-beers and some guest-beers (mostly Weißbier from Bavaria)
Typical, modern beer-restaurant with fair prices for large portions, mostly fatty food with meat (traditional Berlin-food)
toiletts modern and clean,
during my visit on sunday afternoon ca 20% full; service friendly and fast.
Visited on October 2018. Crowded during my visit. In the beginning I couldnt find a table/spot inside so I sat at the back patio but after a while they told me that they dont serve outside. Many waiters and the service score that one could give varies a lot according to the waiter. One told me that I could sit at the bar and have some beers.. nor at another table (there were some spots in tables with other people) and when I asked surprised if he means that I have to leave another waiter "helped" to sit at the bar and then always checking with me if everything was alright. The beers (I took their beers in flights) were better than I expected. Nice ambiance. Average prices. I didnt try the food. I would go again in a less busy hour and if they have new beers for me.
Visited in the evening I believe they were about to close after I left so not many people inside. Ordered a flight and the beers were average at best. I'd say it's OK for tickers, but if you're looking for quality beers there are way better places.
Visited a busy Saturday night, lots of locals and turists. I like the rounded ceilings under the railway arch. Adds lots of atomesphore, when the trains rumbles over your head! We had a huge portion of Eisbein and other very filling German dishes. The food was really. Selection on tap was limited to 12 of Lemke's beers, I didn't bather looking for bottles. Busy, yet friendly staff. We had a lot of fun, but tickers and people looking for extremes will probably have more fun elsewhere in the area.
Given previous reviews that staff here were happier if you ate something, I made sure to time my visit around lunchtime and had some very nice Knacker. That said, as I was leaving, a large group of Scotsmen walked in and said We just want to DRINK! So, good luck! The room you enter has a very nice bar, and half bar tables, half restaurant tables. The brewhouse is in an adjoining room which is also used for events. Flights of six 0.1l pours are available, and you can do small or large glasses of the rest, or bottles of some of them. The flight is a bit pricey at 9 Euro but everything else was not bad. Staff patiently tolerated my limited German. Thank you to the German guy who speaks Swedish and Finnish I met at Vagabund last night, he recommended I try this place, and it was a worthwhile stop. Closer to the Hackescher Markt S-Bahn stop than Alexanderplatz, and both are interesting areas to walk around.
