Kind of unimpressed. I love their beers, and the beers they have on tap are good. Really didnít like my service and my meal was cold when I got it. Will try again, but I was disappointed.

The look of this place is great, but the interior is a bit too dark. Waitress was good and well versed in the offerings on tap. They keep their normal offerings, but the cask and experimental beers are the ones to go for. I had a 4 option sampler. Food was good but quite pricey!
Special place in Grand Rapids (and you thought that would have meant Founders...lol!)...visited here this past Saturday. This is actually a converted funeral home and the taproom is in the former funeral home chapel. This place is a very special sours venue (think Cascade Barrel, Funkatorium, Funkworks). The service and staff were great...and the beers were great...12 drafts in all when I visited (I believe they have bottles too). I was told the food was great...but we were headed next for pizza. Note that the owner was previously a partner at New Holland. I think Brewery Vivant completes the Grand Rapids triumvirate of must visits along with Founders and HopCat.
I loved the ambiance. It looks like a Belgian castle sort of thing. The bartenders and wait staff were also very kind. I wish the beer was better. I really wasnít feeling there flagship saison which is a concern for a Belgian style brewery, Still itís a solid place on ambiance alone.
Cool looking spot that used to be a church, with the main bar built into the old alter. Itís too dark and no character besides being a church. 8 beers on tap, 4 regular, 3 seasonal and a barrel aged beer. The beerís were anything special. The food was pretty good but service was a bit slow and inattentive. The truffle fries were great, without being too oily.
Maybe the coolest looking bar I have ever been to. It is an old funeral home turned into a brewpub that has a church like feel with stained glass windows everywhere. Servers were knowledgeable and attentive. They only offer about 10 beers, all of them made in-house. I was worried that it would be nothing but Quads and Tripels, but they were more diverse than that. All the beers have a Belgian twist, but many different styles are represented. We didnít like the food all that much, we felt is was too fancy for itís own good. Prices were right, especially since you get a 16 oz. pour in a goblet rather than a pint glass. Great idea, great beers. You will have a good time if you go here.
A great restored old church, that for once is almost as cool as it sounds. Service was amazing with a great knowledge of beer. Selection was pretty large, almost 12. Prices are a bit high, but quality is there. Although not all the beer was to my taste, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This is an amazing place. The beer selections are amazing -- besides the normally available stuff, thereís a good variety of specials, as well as a Firkin. And the food is top notch: locally sourced ingredients, and more of a higher end restaurant than a brewpub. Love the outdoor seating, too. Icing on the cake is that the beer is among the best Iíve had.
Very cool ambiance, it looks like an old church. Good service, though they get crowded easily. Small beer selection but thereís always something nice on tap. Rotating wood-aged beer always, as well. Havenít ordered the food, but I hear itís good. Decently priced, maybe a little on the high side, but overall itís worth a visit.
