This is where I started drinking, and I didn’t know how spoiled I was. I have never found a better place. The atmosphere is perfect for a pub. Looks like an old pub with ancient brickwork and lots of old wood. There are no TVs, and the music is good, but low enough for conversation. The servers are friendly and very knowledgeable, but are often overloaded. The beer selection is second to none. There are 18 beers on tap downstairs, plus 6 more upstairs at the Belgian bar. Everything on tap is, without fail, excellent. There are usually a few great local brews and some rare or unusual beers. The bottle list is expansive, and there is a reserve beer list for those of you with deep pockets and a desire for something truly different. The food is very good. Some interesting pastas, and standard pub fare done well. I have tried other places, and keep coming back to the Brick Store. It is sad that I’m moving out of state, but I’ll be back here every chance I get.
Often crowded but for good reason. Cozy and the beer selection is unbelievable. If you ever get an opportunity to see their cellar, do it! You kind of gotta know someone though. It is incredible. Quoted from the pub website - "We believe this to be the largest beer cellar in the United States and one of the largest in the world."
Visited in February 2017. It was Saturday and place was totally crowded. On next day Sunday there was more room. Nice old place. Food was OK and tap selection good. Belgian bar upstairs was interesting and cozy but I have never eved had so expensive Belgian beers (Orval bottle 16 dollars??). Vintage bottle list was interesting but didnt have time to try anything.
Visited here in mid-February ’17 while in town visiting my son. Great place, rustic old pub feel to it with lots of brick. Rotating tap list with some very eclectic offerings, Swedish Gose for instance. The bottle list is amazing, tons of aged beers and lots of verticals, some priced in the $100s. Food is typical pub grub, pretty solid, but not extensive, the focus is more on the beer. Some place that any beer geek should visit once in their life.
Yes, it is that good. The first aroma I get is the scent of pine, but that’s from the Christmas decorations that add a festive air to this dark, quirky and atmospheric bar. They’ve got 21 beers on tap - on my festive visit divided into ’Holiday beers’, ’US craft’ and ’Foreign draft’. That’s not counting the 8-tap Belgian bar upstairs. Quite a few bottles and cans, but the cherry on the cake is the ’cellar flight’: aged beers from 2007 to 2014, served in very small measures (4 for $20). Basically, they get beer, and they get us. Ticking, drinking and being paradise. As perfect as we will get in this universe.
A fantastic stop a little ways outside downtown Atlanta was well worth a late night visit. The only major downside was that they would not do sample or half pours and you could only order one beer at a time. That said the selection was on par with the best bars that I have been to. The interior even has a nice faux Belgian feel that is only broken by the sounds of Georgia traffic. If you only manage to get to one place in town this wouldn’t be a bad choice.
Plenty of seating for dining. 20 or so spots at the bar. Selection is not the biguest, but incredibly good. Food was incredible as well. Service was professional and efficient. Upstairs has a whole other bar and dining area. Feels like a good place to hide.
