One of the best bottle shops in the country. Excellent selection, upscale feel, and reasonable prices. I highly recommend this place.

As a local, itís difficult for me to find much to praise about this place. Most of the beer is poorly stored (yet another WNC beer store that has 90% of its beer on warm shelves and only a small fridge for some overpriced singles), old and overpriced. To be fair, I think that most of my disappointment stems from being a local and realizing that 98% of the beer in this region, especially Asheville (like Boulder, where I spent my previous ten years), is very low quality, shamefully overpriced and produced by naked emperors and egocentric charlatans. However, out-of-town visitors will probably leave here contently, after finding plenty of new beers to tick (presumably this is why the score for this place is so inflated). Plus, sometimes an interesting beer will show up on one of their two taps like "Lunch" from Maine Beer Co. or Blackberry Farm Summer Saison. But most of the beers I want to drink (e.g., De Ranke, Het Anker, Glazen Toren, Dupont, De la Senne, to name a few), have been languishing on the shelves for far too long (this store didnít receive any 2016 Saison Dupont until a year after its release, which is so sad...and by then it was already dull and lifeless), so unless something super fresh is here and at none of the other equally ho-hum Asheville beer shops, I rarely visit this place.

Small-ish store close to the downtown area. Service was both very friendly and very helpful. Selection was good, quite a few local ales that I had not seen elsewhere. Prices were a mix of reasonable and expensive (for the rarer bottles). Definitely worth a look.

I am rating the online store only, I have not actually been to this place. The online selection is pretty decent with plenty of beers that you probably cannot get in your area. Buying singles is allowed and the price per beer is a decent value. The best part about this place is the service. I ordered a beer once and they happened to be out of it, one of the employees there I think named Jason actually called me on the phone to ask what beer I wanted to switch too. That is awesome! Also super fast shipping. If you order beers over the weekend the FedEx guy will be knocking on your door by Wednesday of the next week. If your are looking to get hard to find North Carolina beers this is the place to shop online.

I stopped in while in NC for a wedding. Wow!. If you like high gravity beers, this is your go to place. I had them ship me a box of excellent NC/VA bourbon barrel aged stouts, which arrived a few days after I got home via FedEx. Service was super-good. I would make a point of stopping in Ashville again just to go to this place. Thumbs way up!

Not sure if Iím allowed to do this but Iím rating for the online shop only. Bought from these guys twice - shipping is around $40 to DC in a padded wine shipper. After running out of a certain beer that I ordered, they swapped it in with a more expensive beer at no extra cost to me. Shipping took about 3-6 days. They also have a layaway program so if you want to order beers but not enough for a full case, you can do so. Great service. Great selection of some less commonly known but highly rated Belgian beers. Not going to bother naming them because you should see just go see for yourself. Price is reasonable imo, but once again check for yourself.

pretty small store just off the main strip in downtown Asheville. Quite small store with a bunch of local stuff at the front of the store, mix of craft and international offerings throughout the rest of the store..small tap area with a few items on tap, so you can have a beer and shop at the same time, upon my visit here they were having a small Ballast Pt tasting with a few decent bottles and also they had BA Sexual Chocolate on tap, so I could not pass up a snort of this, liked that you could get a small pour as well. Really didnít see anything super rare or out of the ordinary here but did have a few things that I didnít see in other stores, like No Da Hop Drop Roll..a nice quaint store that does have a very good selection of craft beer, worth a visit if in the area

Visited on a Tuesday evening about an hour before close. The group I was with were the only people in the shop during the visit, so that was nice. There is a small metered parking lot beside the shop that can be utilized, but it is a bit pricy. $1 per half hour. We used it so that we could easily carry our beer out and put it away. Inside, there are beers lining all walls plus a center display. I donít remember seeing any wine, but they did have some ciders and mead available. There is a refrigerated section on the wall to the right as soon as you walk in, but the majority is room temperature. We were left mostly to ourselves for perusing, but I had a question about a mead they had and itís price. After that, the gentleman working was a bit more chatty. He was very knowledgeable about the mead and even gave me a bit of a flavor profile of it, which was cool. He sold it. That mead was the only thing I didnít see with a price tag. All other things were labeled. I found about 10 bottles of things I hadnít come across before and immediately grabbed. When I was cashed out, I was actually surprised at how little my bill was. I checked it out, and everything was there. I guess that would speak to the reasonableness of the pricing. This place is very much deserving of itís world class status, and next time I am in Asheville, I will come in with the intent of perusing more thoroughly. Very cool place.
