A nice little gem in the middle of the fish market tourist trap area. But most tourists miss this one. They stay in the restaurant at first floor. You have to enter the building at get to the 2 floor. Decent nice beer and decent food. Find yourself a seat by the window and enjoy your beer and a perfect view of the harbor.
12 beers on tap including five of their own brews. A tasting set of five beers, each with 200ml, for NOK 235,-. A modern, large brewpub with wooden interior, separate dining room, and with the brewery plant behind the bar. Located right in the bay of the historic harbour side in Bergen. Polite service. Indifferent music. (Visited 03.10.2017).
Good brewpub direct on Bryggen, Zachen at the top floor, with a good View over the harbour. I had a flight with 4 different beers brewed at the premises, for a reasonable cost. Good tasty food, burger was good at my visit. Good bottle selection as well.
We had 4 of their own beers in 20 cl-glasses, served by a very friendly and well informed bartender. He was also genuinely interested in our feedbacks and served us a free sample at the end of our session. Even though the beers we had was varying in quality I’ll certainly return next time I’m in Bergen. Fine atmosphere, lovely view of the harbour and great staff. The menu looked temting, will have a meal next time around.
Visited on a early Saturday evening in September 2016. Very central location, upstairs in the Zachariasbryggen building with restaurants and bars. The restaurant/bar was big and the selection was decent, both their own beers and some guests. I tried a couple of the own beers, both were decent. The service was friendly. Well worth a visit if visiting Bergen.
"Zachariasbryggen" restaurant complex by the fish market is easy to find, and from the outside you can see the sign "Bryggeri" which means brewery. Head upstairs and you will find a nice brewpub. Lots of wood and you can see that brewing is in progress. I met the brewer by coincidence, a friendly and service minded guy. It turned out that he stayed for a period in my hometown some 25 years ago. The world isn’t big! What about his beers? Well, they’re not world class, but at least more than decent and well worth seeking out. I had a flight, 5 x 15 cl for 150 kroner. (Red Betsy, Tropicana, Bruce Springsteen, Azacca Pale Ale and Bambergenser) Other beers on tap were Stone Arrogant Bastard and beers from Hansa and Austmann. Overall a nice visit. Its a little hard to fnd, and was closed 3 of the four times i went during my stay in Bergen. But it was worth the wait. The place looks new and is really nice. I had a couple of their own beers. They were ok. Overall i say this is a place worth visiting in Bergen.
A rather odd place to have a brewpub, on the third floor, I think. Sort of hard to find unless you know where to go, even though it’s located in the most touristy part of Bergen. But the place looks nice, sort of rustic, with wooden beams. I’m a bit confused on which audience they’re targeting, as it seems to be mostly younger people they were trying to attract and please, but the interior seemed more appropriate for those at 50+ years. Got a superfriendly welcoming and introduction by the brewer, who was just starting to know his equipment, which were obvious judging from the beers they poured, but he was an educated guy so I’m sure it will improve. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.
