The place looks great especially as there is a copper tun in the middle, but neither brewing, nor food nor service impress in the same way. Leave it for the tourists; maybe they will pay for the overpriced standard fare.
Quite a nice place, restuarant as you enter, and a new bar with 27 taps downstairs, just 21 in use at my visit tho. I like the interior with wooden tables and benches, but ambiance was ruined somewhat by the smell of boiled cabbage downstairs. Selection kindof all over the place, had a good number of Coisbo, Amager, a Mikkeller or 2, Midtfyn, Thisted, Rise. Had to be noted that there was no beers brewed on site at our visit, wich was a letdown for me. Friendly service, 5 or 10 cl samplers sold at a fair price. Will proberly return if back in Odense, but hopefully they have started brewing by then.
They opened a new bar/brewpup in the basement. It has potential to become a good bar. Some of the beers served were in a good condition others were in a really bad condition. Especially the Coisbo no. series were old. Why serve old beer?
Great location, espcially on a sunny day in July, when you can enjoy a beer or two in what amunts to the town square. Friendly staff (gave me samples before deciding what to have), and a choice of glass sizes. Their rhubarb ale was very refreshing and their wheat bock satisfying, and alle their beers are brewed on the premises, according to the staff. Food menu looked good, althoug I didn’t eat. Will comeback.
Located in the busy pedestrian zone in the very heart of Odense, Bryggeriet Flakhaven invites the thirsty visitor to its large indoor hall and a beer garden just outside. Modern but cozy furniture (long wooden tables and chairs). The staff is friendly and service-minde; they are more than happy to sell samples. The selection is small and includes just he four beers brewed in place. These are definitely drinkable. I haven’t tried the food, but judging by the menu it should be OK. A good place for a hangout if you have a couple of hours to kill in Odense.
Not a very cosey place. A bit industrial interior. Ok service. 4 taps, so nothing that special. Herning/Flahaven ale though and easter and oatmeal stout when I visited. I think that all other 3 brewpubs in the chain are more interesting and cosey.
