![]() 84 Great selection of beer, one of the rare occassions to taste a few of the more adventurous German brewers, along with plenty of the best of traditional classics. Lovely Biergarten, which was full on a Tuesday evening. The serrvice was a little slow on such a busy evening, but otherwise great and friendly, and we had a good beer chat with Gerhard. |
![]() 72 A bit of a walk from the city centre through a not so interesting area of Bamberg, but definitely the place to visit after doing your brewery tours and you're in the mood for a little more variation. Ambiance was a bit of a disappointment, this is not a pretty looking bar. Fortunately, the beer menu has plenty of interesting local beers and some craft beer. You can get five large flights (20 cl) from tap for 7 euros. Service was very minimal the first evening we were there, but a bit better the next evening. Overall not the epiphany I expected, but certainly worth a visit. |
![]() 80 Loved this place. Just outside of Bamberg center, had no issues parking on the street. Tap list is nice, six beers I’d never seen before and an extensive bottle lists. Bottles to go if you need. Didn’t eat, but many many others were. This is really a spot to cater to the neighborhood, not just to beer geeks, but that’s the charm. Great service too. Great spot. |
![]() 94 Visited 3.10.17, too close to closing time, so no kitchen and only 2 rounds of beer. A few minutes walk from the railway station and not far from Weyermann, very cosy and and intimate, with a good selection of off-beat Franconian in particular and German in general bottles, nicely curated taps and prices were decent. We love our Helles and Dunkels, but this was a very nice break from them. Highly recommended. |
![]() 68 As the name suggests, this place is a bit off the regular path in Bamberg, with its location in a dominantly residential area on ?the wrong side? of the railroad. One of the few places in town to enjoy beer in a pub like environment, with small tables set out in a split-level room and local (presumably) art on the walls. Five beers on draught, and a nice bottle list which includes both ?foreign? styles and countries. Decent service, and good pricing.

![]() 76 A bit off, from the city center, but they have a nice selection of Franconian beers on tap and from the bottle. Their food (especially the breakfast) menu looks good, but I haven’t tried it. The ambiance is a funny mixture between a student bar and café. |
![]() 82 May, 2017 I spent three days in Bamberg and had three meals at Café Abseits. Mostly Franconian beers on tap and in bottles as well as some Belgian imports. I was quite happy exploring their local beers including some odd ball brews in bottles. Service was efficient and quick, although only one of my three servers seemed totally up to speed on their beers. Food was very good for the price with great vegetarian options for my herbivore girlfriend. Overall much more relaxing than the old town breweries. |

![]() 86 Two blocks out of town from the train station. Extraordinary enough to justify a taxi fare if you are without map. Also worth considering for its 20 or so set breakfasts from 09.00 - where beer accompaniment is optional rather than expected. The beer highlights are the Weyermann selection, the unusually broad range of Oberfranken beers and the short but select list of Belgian classics. A nice change from the great grandstanding bars in the centre. |

![]() 66 Does not live up to the high expectations. The waitress had no knowledge of beer and was quite rude. |
