Visited on a Saturday night. Nice typical brown Belgian beer cafť interior, wood, nice selection of beers although nothing spectacular. Music was way too loud and not particularly appealing (club music). Stayed for one beer and left.
Much nicer than I thought it would be. Sure, it is a run-down cafe on the big square and they donít even serve food, for instance. But the tap list is much more progressive than most bars around, with modern Belgian like Hof ten Dormaal. Prices are very reasonable and I think you get get a tick or 2 since the locals change regularly. So if the sun is out in Leuven and you want to see the crowd walk by, settle here, bring your own food and drink.
On Leuvenís main drinking square with lots of tables outside. There are a few rarities for the beer geek, but mainly stuff you can get everywhere. There were televisions outside ready for the onslaught od the football world cup.
Nicely decorated (old beer ads) pub on the Oude Markt / Old Market Square (locally known as "the longest bar in the world"). Can be crowded in weekends. Loud music (as in most other pubs on the Oude Markt) Very nice selection of some of the best beers Belgium has to offer.
