Any place that has Sculpin on tap has my instant respect. Great location right on a bayou, with kids fishing and kayakers jayaking nearby. Tap list of 15 was impressive, bottle list was solid. Food was OK - gumbo was plain, crab cakes were tadty enough but could have used less binding ingredients. Great service. Worth a stop.
Visited during RBWG 2015. Well we definitely didn’t have a ’normal’ visit here. But the visit we had was outstanding. Paul and his set us up in the back - right near the bayou, as it were - with a buffet and a few taps of free-flowing Florida goodness. The food just about perfect for a group of men attempting to drink all the beer in greater Tampa: hearty, tasty and filling. The restaurant has a ramshackle ambiance that seems to hearken back to its biker roadhouse days; I quite like it. When I get back to Tampa I will absolutely come here so that I can explore the menu more fully and try some of the other beers on offer. The visit here was definitely a highlight of the weekend.
Visited here during RBWG. This is an absolutely huge venue with many different drinking and dining sections. I would absolutely believe it if somebody told me that Paul could pack over 500 people in here. Our group was seated in the open air back section by the bayou and thoroughly enjoyed the great food and hospitality. While we didn’t have the standard beer menu available to us, I’m sure Paul takes care of the masses. Our group had some great pours from CCB and other regional breweries. The food was plentiful, filling, and quite enjoyable. Service was top notch. Overall, a really fun place. Cheers, Paul!
Visited for one of their beerfests. An interesting lay out with plenty of outdoor seating and a slightly dated indoor area. Service was great and the staff was helpful and knowledgeable. A nice selection of taps and a pretty interesting bottle list. I really enjoyed the food and prices were right where I would want them to be. A nice place to stop for some cajun and a brew.
God bless Joe Thibodeaux for opening this place. God bless the new owner for including good beers to the menu. 15 taps of good beers, loads of bottles, a charming decor reminiscent of Louisiana and superb Cajun food. Rich and beans was delicious. Quick and friendly service.
Superb Cajun restaurant with an excellent beer range. It was fairly quiet when we came in just before 8. It’s fairly staid inside but there’s a nice seating area outside. The food is brilliant but the beer. My God. 15 Florida-based beers with a wide range of styles represented, as well as a bottle fridge with certain breweries (Cigar City, Unibroue, Abita - well we are in a Cajun restaurant) available. Proprietor is a Bristolian apparently so that’s pretty cool. A must if in the area.
