Stopped in today for the last time. I hadnít heard about the closing, but there are only a couple more weeks. Iíve enjoyed making this place my regular Richmond stop for a few years. The room was pretty bland, but the location is great and the selection has always been pretty good. The friendlier of the two guys wasnít in today, which is a shame, but Iíll have fond memories of this joint.

This is one of my favorite stops to buy beer in richmond. I try to make there at least once a week. This place has only one flaw: THEY ARE CLOSING! The staffer told me that at the end of the month, the store is gonna be gone for good. Bummer...

ive been in this place repeatedly as it is only a few blocks from the ol apartment. no one has ever said a word to me while i was in there. i like conversation. prices are run of the mill for richmond. no singles without asking. should be carytown wine, but we have beer too. feels like a cvs for beer whereas total wine is wal mart.

Richmond tour Stop 2: It was a good sized store with limited parking on busy Cary St.. They had a good selection of imports and a lot of the usual microbrews, but nothing terribly rare with the exception of a few special editions. Most of what they had was in 6 packs and big bottle singles, but there is a limited selection of small singles. There was a surprising number of ex-Soviet brews to be found; I made sure to get some.

Very good selection, and the proprietor was nice enough to break up a couple of 6-packs so I could grab some singles. Definitely a place to stop at when youíre in town.

One of best places to shop beer in Richmond. A nice store in a nice area with lots of floor space. Good selection of wine and beer. Singles available, cold beer available. Many rare beers including a decent selection of Belgians. Service varies greatly from mediocre to excellent between the two employees Iíve dealt with. Prices are fair.

Another one of my usual beer haunts in Richmond. Good selection and usually stuff that other places might not have. Lacking a bit in the service given that the employees arenít as friendly as other places I know of. Helpful however in that most will split six-packs for you if you only want a few.

Great location and friendly but poorly informed staff (theyíll reccomend everything!). This place will generally break packs for singles if you ask.

Decent enough selection, but it is 6-pack heavy. They will split, but only to a point. You canít just go in and pull a single from every sixer. If you could this place would be much better in my opinion. They have St. George brewery beers in a sampler pack...worth the $8-9 bucks just to get the Winter Stout in there. The foreign selection is decent and the American craft selection is pretty damn good. Itís in a cool part of town as well.

Good selection in 6-packs, and I hear they will split although I have never asked. Pretty limited singles selection, and most was unrefrigerated. The staff is rather snooty as lots of folks in Carytown are. They seem more interested in the wine crowd. I found the overall selection and store to be better at Once Upon a Vine off of Laburnum to be better. Not a bad store however, its worth a visit.
