The fourth pub under the wings of Peter van den Arend, after Arendsnest, BeerTemple and Craft & Draft, apparently located in the former Jopen tasting room, at the quiet end of an otherwise busy street teeming with eateries. A noteworthy attempt at food and beer pairing, an aspect of modern day beer culture which still seems a bit underexposed (certainly in comparison with the wine tradition). Tap and bottle list is comparable with what you’ll find at Craft & Draft, with obviously a prominent presence of Morebeer’s creations. Wooden interior, perhaps still a bit rough on the edges but nevertheless very agreeable, albeit small. Prices are steep, but the selection comprises interesting one-offs and exciting craft beers from different European countries. Bit understaffed it seems, as the place was rather crowded and the two young people operating it, had to work their heads off to get everything arranged, but managed to do so with great friendliness and professionalism. Timothy, the young chef, prepares classic dishes with a keen sense for refinement and attractive presentation; the burgers I had, were excellent and presented with sufficient refinement for what it represents. The bar itself was cared for by Craft & Draft’s lovely Ilse and both of them have become personal friends meanwhile, which added a lot to the fact that this was the most pleasant one of the three venues I visited in Amsterdam yesterday. I will be back next time I’m in the city, big cheers to Ilse and Timothy in the meantime!
Nice bar/restaurant with a solid beer selection and food with beer recommendations. The pulled-pork sandwich is awesome, (even though it is almost impossible to eat it without having to clean your cloth afterwards). Still totally worth it. You can do a craftbeer-pub-crawl and get a free tshirt if you get a receipt at Beertemple, Proeflokaal Arendsnest, ’cause BEER loves FOOD and Craft & Draft. It is not worth buying 4 beer for a shirt, but if you are looking for nice craft beer bars and are planing to have a few beers either way, this is the perfect plan for the evening.
Wins the ’surprise on the upside’ award for Amsterdam bars. Crozy lay out and not unlike Craft & Draft in this respect. Close to 30 taps with quality and local rep very obvious. Nice friendly vibe. I’m very impressed and a great example of what can be done in small spaces (I hadn’t been to Copenhagen at this stage!). Makes the ’must visit’ list with ease and a much more visitor friendly location when compared to Craft & Draft and a few others.

Visited during Cloudwater and Kees tap takeover on a Friday evening. Place is small but wasn’t full, easily accessible. Beer selection is excellent, food is also good. Stuff is friendly and professional. Recommended if need a proper dinner with quality beer.
Another small craft beer bar in Amsterdam. I aimed for a bar counter location, my favourite spot! Friendly service and a talkative blond, young female barmaid made my visit pleasant. You buggers, don’t get dirty thoughts now! I enjoyed great beers from Oedipus, Pampus, Bird Brewery, Jopen and finally I found Chouffe Bok 6666. The latter is Belgian, but I did an exception in my Dutch craft beer journey. All beers served as 15 cl on request. (Visited November 19th 2016)
Visited september 2016. As in other Morebeer establishments, the hoppy beers are dead, but the selection is good nevertheless. The major disappointment here was the food, which is mediocre at best, but in some cases it’s just awful. The salad and fries were great though!
Third place visited the 24th September 2016 during the MoreBeer pub crawl. On a quiet street, this place is really small. Modern ambiance inside. Good beer selection. Staff is friendly. Food is good but really expensive. I highly recommend you to eat somewhere else! For sure the worst place during the pub crawl!
Bit of a walk from the center but an agreeable tram ride. Located in a very quite & bit deserted almost alley-like street. Very quite, we sat outside. Service was friendly & helpful. Good amount of taps, some new Jopen beers but more than just Jopen beers. Tap selection was pretty interesting & good. Place isn’t very big but big enough. Prices are agreeable for Amsterdam. I didn’t try the food. Overall I liked it, nice selection, some new beers for sure & a quite place. Not bad at all.
Small bar on a quiet street just off the hustle and bustle (and a tram route, so it’s easily reachable). Inside is just a few bar tables, and then there are half a dozen or so tables out on the sidewalk. Fairly plain interior. Friendly staff. Decent selection. I would return to try the food.
