Blatantly going for an Austin vibe -- kudos for actually pulling it off pretty well. Lots of Texas micros on tap and much better than average bottle selection. We had a couple excellent burgers and very good onion rings. Seasoned fries were short on seasoning and had obviously been sitting a while. Great patio but not much shade so hit it while the weather’s cooler.

Another solid Houston spot. 30+ taps. No flights which blows. Good amount of local beers. Easy parking. Roadhouse type vibe.

Pros: Awesome patio Indifferent: Marginal beer selection Cons: Food & service. This patio centric bar is one of my favorite places to catch a pint. Its location makes you forget you are mere minutes from the city center as you are on a lazy gravel patio under some oak trees. They typically have 3-5 top tier beers and specialize in Texas beers with their Texas pint night. In addition to having more taps than the other "creek" bars, they also have a decent bottle selection. Service is from the bar only from what I can tell, and that means hand to hand combat for the next round when it is busy. I haven’t eaten here a ton, but besides the easy stuff, I have not been impressed as the food seems either prepackaged, greasy, or just cooked incorrectly. That said, this is still a great patio to catch a few beers and I would definitely recommend it when the weather is nice.

Nice place in the Heights area of Houston. Decent selection of Saint Arnold and other micros with rotating seasonals in addition to the macro stuff. Even a few Belgians in bottles. HUGE patio which was really nice since the weather has gotten a little cooler. My burger was great, but my wife’s fried shrimp weren’t very impressive. Had a good time.
