Far from the best selection or price for a place of its size, but a good place to pick up some quality micros in NW DC. Prices are good for the area, selection is pretty good, and kegs are cheap.

Mediocre beer selection, don’t understand the great reviews. There are no special finds here, it’s all stuff you can easily come across elsewhere in DC. The guys who work there are friendly but don’t really know a lot about beer. Don’t go out of your way to check out this place.
All staff were extremely helpful so kudos on the services.
Single bottles are available for make your own six packs. One of the few places in DC that allows such.
Selection is unfortunately a bit boring due to the season but should pick up later on. One of the biggest selections of Belgians I’ve see in DC.
A bit far from most public transportation but otherwise well.

This place is lame, never seen so much old old beer, ipas from 2014.... 20 bombers if that. Lots of old beer. Borderline retarded staff who knew nothing about beer at all. They have singles but check the dates. A waste of a trip. If you think this is a great beer store, you need to get out more...

I was taken aback by this place. It is really, really great. At some point, one of the friendly employees claims, they had the biggest selection on the East Coast. Lots and lots of beer, way more than 300. I would say closer to 1,000 with lots of local beers, American craft and from all over the world. I even added a new country Honduras. and the great thing is that they sell singles, and you can break any six pack, much better than nearby Magruders. This is a gem that I will keep returning to.
Place is very compact, but contains a few notable gems. Relatively big Belgian selection. Actually has a shelf with discounted old stuff, so they seem to do a relatively good job with clearing out the stale stuff. Prices didn’t seem too outrageous for DC, though I’ll continue to do most of my shopping in the cheaper suburbs unless I’m in the neighborhood.
This place is out of the way but it’s one of the best I’ve encountered in the DC area. Has a lot of selection, and nearly everything can be bought in singles. Belgians are expensive, and have a few interesting country ticks. Some older seasonal stuff is always on sale for cheap. Very friendly staff. Probably better than some of the places in proper DC but not necessarily worth the trip out unless you are looking for something to do. It’s close to the metro stop at least.
