I got to chumleys basically every Sunday because they have half priced wings and it’s the only time I can personal do the passport (50 beers in a year). The only days you can’t do it is Thursday, friday, Saturday. As for the tv concern yes they have a lot of repeative tv shows but if you’re not sitting at the bar you can’t always see exactly what you want comfortable. So all the tvs helps. For all those complaining about the smoking, it’s a non smoking bar now. Over all if you want a place to watch sports have a large selection of beer and desecent bar food chums is the place to be.

First time visitor - not in for food, just a couple beers - first impressions: pretty dark, lots of seating, tons of TVs, though not enough variety (seriously, do half of the TVs above the bar need to be playing the same 40 point blowout). Ok, onto the important stuff - 50 taps, with a variety of selections that in all honesty should please just about everyone...they have your swill macros and they have some interesting taps from IN/MI/etc that appear to rotate every month or so. Prices seem to be relatively mediocre... Service was fine, but the server didn’t correct me when I thought one beer was cherry based - seemed happy to just agree with whatever, say everything is great and get on with his job - would go back for something special, and if I try the food, will re-rate
I’m SO glad this place has a good selection of local and regional craft brewers, but holy crap there’s way too many televisions. What a mentally-polluting enivronment. There’s also a fair population of Purdue frat douches lookin’ too cool for school. Plus, there’s smoking, which is unfortunate. Really, this would be an absolutely shitty establishment if it didn’t have 101 beers, including a decent selection of Indiana beers.
Chumley’s has the best selection of beer in Lafayette. 50 beers on tap and 100 bottles. I loved the mature atmosphere that was polished, and comfortable. Not really a "college" party bar though many students frequent the place. Most of them like a finer taste in beer then your normal yellow beer. They have a "beer around the world club" ... drink 50 different beers in a year (I think that’s what it is) and get a t-shirt and your name on the wall. No sure if they still offer $3 pints of Indiana beers on Saturdays though.
nice selection of beers. not too extensive but quite a good representation. friendly people -seems to be the course here in northern indiana- clean great smelling -will eat tomorrow- food and sports on the tube. not one of those bullshit overvexed tv sports bars -thank God. can’t go wrong here. pretty and sweet young lady at the bar today they are lucky they have her. 05/28/08
They have a very good selection. Probably the best in Lafayette. The biggest complaint I have is the ambiance. Loud, packed with people, and smells of smoke. I find this unappealing when wanting to drink good beer.
Nicer beer bar, great for the area. Food is typical bar stuff. The beer selection is presented very nicely by style and they make a good effort to educate based on this. Good domestic/micro/import array on tap and in bottle. Mostly midwestern micros. Very nice German selection. Would like to see more West Coast variety.
Nice selection and fairly knowledgable wait staff. With 50 beers on tap and 100 other bottles of a variety of styles, you can pretty much find something to your liking, though I was somewhat disappointed in the tap selection. The taps do change, though. The night I was there, the list did contain Arrogant Bastard, Bells Two Hearted, Bells Porter and Bells Hell Hath No Fury. Beer specials throughout the week. The decor is pretty much "college bar, sports bar." Didn’t try any food. Popular place which was fairly crowded, even on a Tuesday night.
