A girl was out front. I asked, "Do you have local brews on tap?" She said "Come On in." I had a Southbound IPA, and she (turned out she was a bartender) kept a close watch over me. Good ambience, great service, good advice, a real winner.
I’ve stopped here a couple of times while visiting Savannah. Interesting place. Sort of an English Pub, I guess. I usually stop in for late nigh food and a pint or two. They often have a couple of local beers on tap and the service is prompt and friendly, though not necessarily beer experts (though I wouldn’t expect it here). Typical bar fare, lots of fried food, but some surprises as well. Liked the hummus, but usually get chicken fingers or something. Tasty enough for what it is. Not a must stop, but again, it’s near the main drag and Moon River, so stop in for a quick bite and a pint if you want. Good drunk food at the end of the night, and they’re often one of the only places open really late if you’re there during the week or a weird day.
Not bad. Has the whole pub feel with lots of the usual suspects on tap. The bartenders were speedy and knew enough to make appropriate suggestions. Both my beer and my husbands beer tasted "off" though. Of course, we popped in here after doing the whole sampler over at Moon River.
Stopped here on a Savannah Pub Crawl along with Moon River. English pub ambiance- quite crowded and lively. Lots of young people and students. Had Innis & Gunn and Hobgoblin. Not my favorite stuff. Only a handful of local craft beet. Mostly stuff like Wells Bombardier. Cool place.
This pub is not bad, few decent beers, full of tourists when I was there, which probably makes up a lot of their business. I had a Wells & Youngs Bombardier (when in Rome) it it was pretty good, the food coming out seemed good pub food. Got to take it for what it is, not a place I would look for but I must admit to have come in to watch English Soccer games a few times over the years!!
We went here last year before the beeradvocate bros pub crawl, so this review is taken from the BA site.
Beer selections small but decent but we came because well it was open and we did not what to eat at moon river brewery.
Seating is cramped and chairs too small, but the food was good. The service was decent, but the girls serving food are beer ignorant, so don’t ask them. They had sweetwater and terrapin good enough for me.
I stopped in this bar on my first trip to Savannah and thoroughly enjoyed the staff, beers, and atmosphere. I had a hobgoblin draft on a traditional English oak carved bar. The bar itself serves a good selection of English beers on tap and domestic micro brews on tap and in bottles and you can take beers to go -)
