Attended a cask event here, which was an absolute blast. Great crowd, great staff, and they even had food. Joey and Wayne spent lots of time with us and opened quite a few interesting beers. I plan to go back every time I’m in Tampa.

Large warehouse taproom catering to tourists. Close to the airport and offering two dozen taps in a wide range of styles, though the Belgian and English takes were average for American breweries, and all of the hoppy beers were pretty crude, not something I would drink regularly. Still it was fun to visit, just this one time.

Nice huge and comfortable tap room. Service was iffy depending on who you were dealing with and went from pleasant to surly. This place is too popular to have much individual attention, so I would go as early as possible if you want some. Tour is fun and more personal than expected. Lots of beers on tap including a couple of guest taps.

The house that built Florida beer, it would seem. I guess I was a little surprised at how large of a space they have going here, even though I probably shouldn’t have been. Pretty full, even on a weekday evening. A handful of tables out front. There’s a bar area and growler fill station/retail shop in the entry way and then the larger tasting area/bar beyond that. A good amount of tables and a pretty substantial sized bar. Certainly an upgrade from your typical warehouse/industrial park brewery.

All the beers are listed on a TV monitor, which is nice. You can do flights and full pours. They only do tasters of the in-house brewed beers (so, even Cigar City ciders/meads are considered guest beers). Flight prices are pretty reasonable. Really good, quick service. Of course, a large selection of different beers on tap.

The thing everyone knows about already is that although they have like 20 beers on tap, probably half of those are just flavored versions of existing beers (IPA, brown ale, etc.). I thought some of them were quite good, others not so much. If you’re a "purist", you probably won’t like them for that reason, but it’s fun to try all the different stuff, even if some of them are kind of ridiculous (blueberry ginger IPA).

Visited on Saturday 21/02/15 during RBWG’15. Got in just after opening so Torino and I managed to hook up with djd and Suds at the bar. Service was prompt and very friendly. We ploughed our way through the best part of 16/17 ticks from the many one off / pilot batch brews, including a couple of ciders. The place is old skoolish mid 90’s brew pub, longish bar and tables and chairs located behind. More seating in the next room and bottles available to take away. The place was really beginning to fill up when we departed around noon ... really best to get in early doors if visiting on a Saturday. Overall a top draw brew pub ... CC classics plus small batch all available in tasting flights for a very good price. A can’t miss venue if in Tampa.

Visited during RBWG 2015. Great brewery taproom. Huge selection, effective and friendly service, good pricing. The beers on tap are clearly labeled on the wall, which is a plus. Lots of unique beers and one-offs. Plenty of seating. A must-visit for a beer geek visiting Tampa. Brewery bars don’t get much better.

Mecca, part deux. This place was a lot of fun. I did not stop at the front bar, but the back bar had a bunch of taps running (more than 20, but some were out), including some guest beers (CC Cider and Mead is a "guest" brewer here). All CC beers were available in you-pick four beer flights for a couple bucks apiece. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Ambiance was open and interesting. Bottles and cans for sale to go in coolers up front. That right there would be enough to make this a must visit, but then, there is the tour. Offered every hour on the hour, the tour is really well put together. You cant actually walk among the fermenters, but you get a good view of everything, including the canning line, and samples are offered at multiple points along the way. Really a lot of fun for $5 (and you get to keep the pint glass, or upgrade to a snifter for $1 more).

June 2010 -- Visited on a Thursday mid-afternoon. This place has managed to add a groovy little tasting room space alongside a nice little industrial brewery. Expecting good stuff based on reputation, we were not disappointed, with several unique and quality beers on tap, and a couple available to take home in bottles (or any of the tap offerings in small bottles, too). Wish I could’ve spent more time here, to be sure. (Brewery #516)

(Visited 06/2011): The brewery/Tap Room is in Tampa on Spruce Street not too far from the airport. The building has a private lot right out front. The exterior is honestly not much to look at, as it is a fairly non-descript box building. The interior is warmer looking, with a bar on the left side that offers a view of a large board listing the available beers. There is a cooler on the right side holding their to-go selection. Speaking of selection, Cigar City’s is very good. On my visit there were around 15-16 of their beers on draught, including Patio Tools, 110K+OT Batch #4, Guava Grove, White Oak Jai Alai and Cubano-Style Espresso Brown Ale. All of the beers are well-executed, even the ones that don’t quite work. Samplers are available too which is helpful. The bottled selection includes both 6-packs and 750mL options. Service on a slow weekday post-lunch afternoon. The bartender was well-versed in their beers and was friendly and attentive during our stay. The brewery offers tours several days a week. Cigar City does not offer food. Overall this is a great beer destination in Tampa, and in Florida in general for that matter.

This IS the complete and total package. When the taproom opens the angels will drink here. The business run with the highest level of professionalism and genuine love of brewing. And it shows: the beers are sublime, along the same level of sophistication as Lost Abbey. Cigar City is putting FL on the beer map but at the same time could be in California and stand up for itself. I can’t wait to try all the beers in the lineup.
