BIG beer selection here, with a smallish singles selection (build your own 6-pack for 10.99). Nice selection in terms of quality and variety. Staff not helpful but still friendly. Ambience is strip mall but still halfway decent inside for the setting. I could see parking being an issue, but it wasn’t bad while I was there. Prices are decent.

This store now has a good ’mix your own 6-pack’ of singles available in the area. At least a variety of 80+ micro’s to choose from. I believe for about $12.
I just had to rerate this place after going back. The selection is still good for the richmond market i suppose. But the customer service and beer knowledge has vastly improved. Can’t say much for the other employees, but the scrawny guy definitely has a passion for beer. And has quite a bit of knowledge to back it up. He also totally hooked me up today when I came by. Not only did he break up two sixers of good, moderately expensive beer, and sell me a mix pack below the 6-pack price, he threw in a bottle of hopslam from the back room! I will certainly be shopping here again.
Went here for the first time on 12-31-03. NICE slection of beers! Picked up some Quelque Chose, Abbaye Val Dieu, and Orval among others. They had several nice beer sets available and plenty of imports and micros. The staff seemed very receptive of my inquiries into other beers and stated they were trying to get as much in as possible. I noticed that they were on a first name basis with some customers and were directing others towards particular beers based on what they liked. Definitely worth your time!
Stopped in here recently while visiting Richmond. Very good beer selection though not quite as good as Once Upon A Vine. The prices were generally cheaper, however. A very good beer store.

Under new ownership. The beer selection has improved greatly since their low point, but is now basically just stocked with the "standard" micros and Belgians. Not that this is a bad thing, it just doesn’t get very exciting. I took away a point from ambiance since the dog isn’t there anymore.
I would highly recommend this place. Went with some friends while on a weekend trip to Busch Gardens (we needed some good beer after being force-fed the Anheuser-Busch swill all weekend). The selection was very good especially for the size of the store. The service was top notch. They allow you to build your own six packs. I can’t remember the prices exactly but they were very reasonable. Much more personal experience versus shopping at a large store like Total Wine (which I really like but it’s not the same). If you’re in the Richmond area you should definitely check this place out.
By my sister and brothers house. great mix six pack selection and fairly interesting bombers.

Richmond tour Stop 1: It’s fairly good size store with a great selection of imports and micros. There were a few I didn’t recognize and hadn’t seen elsewhere. Belgian styles were well represented. The staff was friendly and unobtrusive, but not terribly knowledgeable. The biggest drawback is they have few small bottle singles. They did have a few premade variety 6 packs. I got the Tommyknockers variety pack.
