Not a huge place but it’s awesome nonetheless. Looks almost like a warehouse as you walk up to it. Small little tap room with big long wooden tables. Had probably 20 or 25 taps. A few guest taps but most were country boy beers. Very fast and friendly service and very reasonable prices on everything offered. You can tell the most important thing to them is brewing quality beer and it really shows. Everything sampled was very respectable. Nice little beer garden/patio outback with hop vines growing up the side. Awesome place, I will definitely be back.
One month old and going strong. Very good Lexington brewery in a warehouse-ish area near campus. DIY aesthetic inside the small taproom. Bar seating and various tables throughout. Maybe half of the 24 taps are Country Boy, the rest are excellent choices from Louisville, Michigan, and Missouri breweries that rival any other place in town as being the best tap list on a given day. Not a bad beer on the board when I’ve gone. They may have to eventually find a new location for a taproom. I predict that they will outgrow this space by year’s end. Sometimes the Habenero Loko food truck is outside (excellent gorditas) and they let you order food in.
Went here as a pit stop during the Bourbon Trail. The beer far exceeded my expectations. I tried about 8 beers and they were all surprisingly amazing. Tons of styles, mostly original with 24 taps. Great college atmosphere during the UK College Basketball game. Very busy, but efficient. Everyone was very friendly especially the bartender who gave me a taste of their coffee stout that was reserved to be released a week later. Decent amount of seating for a smaller space. The tanks are not visible from the bar, but can be seen from the front door if open.
Very impressed by this place. The quality of the beers is really quite high. Had eight during my Wednesday night visit, and almost all were top class. Great value and service, too. There are a lot of Country Boy beers on tap, perhaps 15 or so, along with beers from other breweries. The place itself is a fairly classic taproom, without much to distinguish it from other taprooms next to breweries on industrial estates. There was a food truck outside when I stopped in. If you are visiting Lexington, then this spot should be your first visit.
small taproom in Lexington KY. good vibe, purely focused on the beer. about 20 taps, and a great variety of Country Boy brews. all i tried were fantastic. they have a rotating lineupof food trucks to keep it interesting.
Easy to find location with parking lot in front and back. Block building with taproom door on left that opened to large tasting room with bar on right and tables around outside of the room. Freindly staff which was also the brewer on that day. They had a sampler set of four beers at a time of their 12 and had 12 guest taps. No food, but were flexible about bringing small portion from outside. Enjoyed the visit.
Went here twice on our visit to Kentucky, that doesn’t happen often. One night was an Against the Grain tap takeover that was killer. Warehouse style steel building with a really nice tap room, tv above the bar. Service was excellent, the bartender must have been a brewer because answered all my question and even told me how they made some of their more interesting beers. Huge selection of beers on tap, around half of them are theirs except for the tap takeovers. There was a food truck outside that had some great food. Prices were really good, both times I had to double take the check at the end of the night, I’m thinking they messed up somehow. This place is killing it, crazy experimental beers, cool people, really kicked back atmosphere, great prices. Best beer related place we went to in Kentucky.
Country Boy has a cool little tasting room attached to the brewery. It’s got one TV in it and no much else other than a bar and tables. Other than a small selection of snacks there is no food available though bringing in outside food is more than welcome. The beer selection is very wide, they had over 10 of their own as well as a handful of quality guest taps. The beers I had were pretty solid and with a constantly changing line up and chill tasting room ambiance, I’m ready to come back every time I’m in Lexington.
This is the best brewery in Lexington. Located in a warehouse and it has a dim, grungy feel to it. There are 2 large screen TVs behind the bar. You come here for the beer, though. They had about 10 of their own taps, with tasty offerings such as a jalapeno stout, raspberry stout, brown ale with coffee run through a Randall, peach saison, barrel aged brown, etc. All the beers I tried were excellent. Then there are about 10 guest taps with regional offerings including Against the Grain, FFF, Bells, etc. We stayed here several hours because we couldn’t leave without trying another beer. Best beer brewed in Lexington, IMO, so it is a must-stop.
this is a must stop from what i can tell. they brew there own stuff and have a good selection on tap of other great finds. Kinda small and can get crowded from what i’m told, but the people was nice and kept my pint full. Can’t ask for much more
