This McMenamin’s location is quite a bit more cozy than it’s Mill Creek sister location. The food though unfortunately is similarly un-inspired thrown-together low-end pub grub. The interior is cozy, dark, and quite comfortable. Kudos to the interestingly spiced holiday ale.
Dad Watson’s is my fav of the three Seattle McMenamin’s; right in the heart of Fremont with a tasteful interior, large bar, plenty of tables and small outdoor seating area w/ heatlamps; the food at this location is what ultimately sets this one it apart; prices are decent for the area and beer is sufficient; it’s sort of trendy in a really trendy spot, so that gives it some character, but not nearly as eclectic as Six Arms
I love McMenamins beer. The Nitro Stout is one of the best beers I’ve ever had. I also really enjoy the Terminator, Ruby and the Rubinator. The atmosphere is really cool, 20’s decor. Last time I was there, the service wasn’t that great... and they weren’t that busy (afternoon on a Sunday). The food was ok, I got the tots and my friend got fries... he got a heaping mound and I got 6 tots. But I will be back for the beer!
After a trip the to Seattle Pacific Science center with the family we where hungry so we through lets try another McMenamins. Dad Watson’s was the next choice so we headed to the Fremont area and found a great place. Watch out the parking can and will be tough. We found another classic McMenamins place same décor as others with a great looking oak bar and tons of booze and a huge selection of new beers I had not tried. So I was in heaven. We all got some food which was great and the service was way above average for a McMenamins way to go Dad Watson’s. This is a great place and in the middle of the Fremont district what a great place to add to your beer tours along with the other great places in the area.
Great brewpub with plenty of selection of their own beers. Great food too. You try one of their burgers and get the delicious hand cut fries. Great little hand out where you can feel comfortable pulling you laptop out and having a beer.
Good sized place here with dark wood decor. On a corner lot with large windows looking out to a tree lined street. This location brews most of the ales for McM’s Seattle area locations. Parking is very tight around here, so this is more of a neighborhood or transit riders destination.
Hammerhead is a solid flagship APA, but this place is constantly concocting new brews, so you can expect something different every time you visit. OK pub food and happy hour. Unbeatable Fremont location with to fantastic porches. Free Wifi. What’s not to like?
