To rate David Copperfeilds on a one visit basis is not fair as it is obvious that most of you who gave low rating have . The beer changes so much from day to day that if the selection was not upto par with you that day it may please you the next.the Service is the same way the waitstaff are like bartenders all in there own. I have never seen a wait staff know so much about beer. with a buy back policy who can ask for anything more. and then they do with the cask fest they provide that one extra thing your looking for in a beergeek. The food is awsome summer salads are awsome right to the pulled pork sanwich is amazing ..The huge hospital crowd knows York aves well kept secret for years we have been going to Copperfeilds for ages now and the staff may change but the Great beer and attidude doesn’.t In closing 30 taps 100 bottled beers amazing wait staff Darts Golden T video game a party room for a private function David Copperfeilds has it all

Visited this restaurant with Walt during 2005 Thankgiving holidays. Oddly located at a remote corner of York Avenue and 74th Street of Manhattan. Cozy old bar with worn-looking wooden tables in the back for dining. Came during an off-period (3 pm weekday) so not too many patrons. Good ambiance. Good food menu with the above average pub fare. An amazing beer menu with numerous tap and bottle offerings of choice craft beers from the U.S. and abroad. Excellent selection of U.S. brews on tap. 6 oz flights of six tap beers are available. I ordered the BBQ ribs and a flight of Lagunitas cappuccino stout. Sixpoint Otis stout, Sixpoint Bengali Tiger, Stone IPA, and Victory Storm King Stout. I also ordered a pint of Southhampton Cuvee de Fleurs. Our waitress served us quickly, offered a sample of the Southampton as a precautionary measure (!), and had a good sense of humor and gentleness about her. Good beer, good food, good service, what more can you ask for? Must return soon to this place.
This is my favorite beer bar in manhattan. The selection changes daily and also changes with the seasons. While this means less IPAs and Imperial Stouts in the summer, there always remains a diverse selection of styles on tap (and there’s over a hundred bottles). This place has the best food of any beer bar in manhattan, hands down. The bartending staff is very nice and will comp you a beer more often than I’ve found anywhere else. I also think it’s the most comfortable of the beer bars because it has more seating than any other place and doesn’t get Gingerman’s after work rush or the trendy downtown crowd (who usually order the lousiest beers on the menu at the downtown spots if ordering beer at all) that most of the other manhattan beer bars get.
I approached this place and a drunken girl smoking out front screams at me, &quo;come on in, this is the best and smallest Oktoberfest in the city!!&quo; Always a good start. The beer selection here is great, loads of bottles supposedly available, and taps galore. They seem to rotate the beers fairly quickly; I saw the bartender changing two non-seasonal kegs in the short time I was there. Random good beers also on offer here. Standard New York bar prices. A bit off the beaten path, almost in the East River, but a good atmosphere, worth the trip, especially if you’re making it with a good bunch of friends.
Nice selection, knowledgable barkeep Joe. The fajitas are killer. It’s worth taking the cab from Midtown, remote from sub stations. Good beer rotation among the regionals. Very good atmosphere, friendly folk generally -- some regulars, some expectant dads dropping in from the nearby hospital. Overall a very fine stop, a nice evening passed. Keep my barstool warm. When the bartender saw me doing ratings, he slipped me some of his own private stock of Arctic Devil barleywine, because he thought I’d enjoy it -- how much friendlier can you get? Ditto on Austinpowers’ comment re: bathrooms - they’re very clean, as is the bar.
Very nice, chill place to hang out a kill a few pints. Everything that I had here was in great condition and very tasty. Bar staff were friendly and efficient. I didn’t eat so I can’t comment on that, but it’s a fine drinking establishment.

This is my favorite bar in New York. True, I live only a couple of blocks away, but their draft selection is always incredible and always changing. Cask ale always on and always in good shape, and they have tons of bottles from everywhere. Real friendly staff, combined with very good food and stuff to do makes for one of the best pubs I have been to ever. I recommend you come to David Copperfield's whenever in Manhattan.
