This place would get all 5’s if I had more beer bar experience. Reserving a perfect score for later. This place is not big, but offers huge selection of quality brews! Food is great! I recommend brunch! I was lucky enough to have a Mikkeller beer geek breakfast there on draft! I have been here on several occasions. Can be very busy! If you are in Boston this is a must! This is the type of bar I hope to see every where one day! They offer roughly 15 draft lines. These are filled with "All killaS" to quote a friend! definitly a repeat destination. I would be a regulat if I lived closer!
Whelp, this place officially kicks ass. Walked in on a rainy December Wednesday evening...dark as hell at 4:30 pm...and that didn’t stop them from dimming the lights to dungeon-like levels (love it). There’s a very Euro feel to the place, what with it’s exposed brick walls, dramatic crown molding, attractive dark wood, and old-school double blade belt-driven ceiling fans. Service was prompt, friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. As for selection...how does 11 of the 20 drafts coming in at or under 5% ABV sound? This place must be the official hops of locally brewed session beer...what a novel concept (southern brewers take note). The food? House made charcuterie was our choice. The duck prosciutto was amazing, as was the habanero infused sausage. It was really nice to be able to order a 3.5% hoppy bitter to go with my appetizer. I could have sat there all day. Well...I’ll stop gushing over this place now, though I could certainly go on. This is a 99 percentile bar, of you ask me. Fantastic spot.....a true "must visit".
By far the best beer selection I’ve ever come across in the US, possibly even the world. They don’t have 100 beers on tap or even in the bottle but they do have a selection of fantastic beers that represent a wide range of styles. From the novice hop head to the seasoned zymurgist, I can guarantee that anything you choose will be wonderful and most definitely unique. I should also mention that the food is fantastic. The atmosphere can get loud and the space is small making getting a seat difficult, so grab some friends and get deep early.
It may look small, but Deep Ellum was my biggest beer experience in Boston. They can’t compete with the Sunset Grill for the number of beers on tap, but what they have is quality - both on tap and on bottle. Add to that a cozy, almost familiar, atmosphere, a very knowledgeable staff (the owner have tasting sessions with his staff weekly!) and a very good kitchen (great Deviled Eggs!) and you have a beer pub after my heart. A great beer pub!

buncha tight german brews on tap all day. neat building of brick. outdoor patio. can get crowded. cool place, always enjoy a pint of bia here. best ambiance, food, beer combo in boston area.
Stopped here after Sunset. Completely different vibe. Smallish inside - Great place to hang out, much more limited beer selection, but very well though out. Knowledgeable staff, correct glassware. Did not eat here though.
Long bar, exposed brick, patio in the summer, well-lit, nice fans.
Service typically first class, exception might be during a busy brunch on the weekdays. Friendly bartenders, care about their beers and cocktails.
Selection usually great, one cask, often not enough IPAs for my liking but they branch out to some hard to find German and other European beers - I appreciate that even if it’s not up my alley.
Food is fantastic, brunch is the best value - breakfast burrito top notch for $7. Burger one of the best in the Boston/Cambridge area.
Prices reasonable for the area, food entrees are a bit high but you can find something in your price range, I’m sure.
The best all around beer bar in the area, really.
Clark is right. Max, the owner and bartender is a really nice dude who knows good beer. Willblake, Bstill and I went in there and loved the selection and food. It is only a few blocks from Sunset Grille, so it is definitely worth going to both- and Id actually come back to Deep Ellum before Sunset. Good location, very clean and new, long bar and ample seating for getting some food. 20 regular taps, 2 nitros for stouts, and 1 cask. Not a bad beer among the entire lineup. Everything on tap is something that I would have drank. A good portion of the taps are locals like haverhill, cisco, berkshire, and a few others. Food was very well made, and not expensive at all. Bottle selection was really good too, but we were too busy trying a bunch of beers on tap. Awesome place- recommended to anyone travelling in Boston.
I love this place, with about 20 regular taps (all spectacular, without fail), at least one rotating cask offering, a nice atmosphere, and spectacular yet rather affordable food, I don’t see how you could go wrong.
