I thought nothing of what i tasted on tap was enjoyable nor decent: it was too sweet, too malty, too one dimensional and just not balanced. Not for me.

Busy place, but if you want to get Deschutes beers, this is excellent. Restaurant section and bar section dominates the place, the brewery section is a bit ”in the back”. Volume is quite loud due to the volume of the building. If you want to get a bite (nothing fancy, rather standard burgers, really) and haven’t booked a table, you get one of those AllCall flashing pucks and can have a drink in the bar meanwhile. Expect about 30 minutes of waiting. Put together your own sampling flight of six beers. Bottleshop offers the standard beers and also The Abyss, various vintages. Also quite a lot of merch.

It's huge but doesn't feel like it. Excellent beers, excellent food, good service. One of the best spots in downtown Portland.

I had a party of 4, we arrived on a late Sunday afternoon and waited for about 30 minutes to be seated, which we expected. The place is really big and really busy but service was excellent and our server was very helpful and willing to discuss the beer they had available. The wood carved interior is really cool. There are some rarities on the menu and they cost a pretty penny but overall the prices were pretty good. We just ordered a couple appetizers but they were decently priced and damn delicious. This is certainly a big operation and due to the popularity you won't get an intimate experience but their beer and food are top notch.

Visited August 2016. Huge pub, massively busy on a midweek late afternoon. Tricky to find a seat, even though I was on my own. Found a place at the bar. Service was OK given how busy it was. The beers were reasonable.

In the door about quarter after noon on the second Sunday in July 2017. Huge place with a load of customers already (open 75 minutes). They continued to stay pretty packed the whole time I was there, and I’d guess most Sundays are like that, with large brunch and lunch crowds.
Flights of six run $13, and then individual small pours can be obtained as well. Extra $2 on stuff that’s on the rotating old rare keg lists, but that’s totally fine. Can’t imagine there’s a ton of those things left, and neat to have stuff that’s been taken care of for that long.
Prices are decent enough, and servers were friendly and did a good job keeping up with the lunch and brunch rush. Worth a visit.

Big new semi-corporate looking building. Decent tap list with brewery only bottles available to go as a bonus. Food was decent and worth a stop as most of the Brew Pubs are across the river.

Visited March 2017. I think Deschutes is one of the best ’big’ breweries in the states. It was welcomed (and sort of unsurprising) to learn that it operates a very professional mega-brewpub operation. The Portland outpost is a huge space that seemed packed with tourists and casuals. Staff didn’t seem overwhelmed and were very quick to serve. The expansive tap list featured a pleasingly diverse lineup of core beers and brewpub exclusives. Everything, as expected, was well executed and generally tasty. No faults here. A pleasant - if impersonal and somewhat corporate - drinking experience.

Big and bustling, and quite noisy too. Nice offerings on top of their flagship lineups. Food was not spectacular and a bit expensive. Fixed flights are also a drawback.
