When hikin’ from Hallerndorf to the famous Kreuzberg You will surely stumble into this beautiful authentic village Keller on the southern edge of Hallerndorf… This ample, but fortunately not too big, and shady and relatively quiet beergarden - popular with bikers, hikers and locals - is absolutely worth a visit!

Visited twice on 21/7/2013, On the way to the Kreuzberg and then on the way back again. Shady keller on the edge of the village, with a large seating area and different serving areas for drinks, food and coffee and cakes. Service was brisk but friendly and the atmosphere sociable; it got very busy during Sunday lunchtime and we had a good chat with the people sharing our table. Excellent all round.

A quiet tree-covered bierkeller open in the summer while the brauhaus / restaurant is closed. Lieberth Kellerbier in kurgs, lagerbier and pils may be available in bottles. Smoked fish, sausage, kraut, potatoes, pork, cheese, bread food options. I’ve had the kellerbier be a 4.5 experience in the winter and around a 3.5-3.8 in the summer, the two times I’ve been in town, so YMMV. I prefer the relaxing and quiet atmosphere at this keller over the three crowded kellers up the hill at Kruezberg.
