Nice place with the taproom in front of the brewery. Good service and very nice prices. Beers are not amazing but the place is worth a visit.

Another local upstart tucked neatly in an office/industrial area offering a nice selection of craft beers. Several offerings feature habaneros and the samplers are served in ’six shooters’. A pleasant place to spend a lazy afternoon.

Have been meaning to stop here for awhile now, but finally got the chance on the most recent trip to San Diego.

Another business park tasting room. They had a BBQ vendor set up outside, so looks like food is at least sometimes available. Tasting room has a wild west sort of theme to the decor and so do a number of the beer names. A decent sized bar where you can sit and/or order from. A handful of tables around as well. Pretty clean and well done, at least.

There were maybe a dozen beers on tap during my stop, but I didn’t quite try all of them. Beer quality was sort of hit or miss, more towards miss in the beers I tried. Given that it’s so close to a number of other places in the San Marcos and Vista area, you might as well go to Churchills, Stone, Lost Abbey, Rip Current, etc. instead.

Comments: Western Themed brewery tap room with 12 beers on tap, no guest taps. Cheaper tasters at $1.50 each for 4-5oz glass. Owner was also the bartender-friendly and talkative. Seemed to be fairly popular and became crowded as we left. The beers were okay to good, none were too awful. Most still need a lot of work, but they are brand new and I hope they continue to improve. Fun place to get your tick on in San Marcos.

Another new warehouse brewery. This one is close to the freeway and close to several good places like Rip Current and Churchills. Much like the two aforementioned places these guys have a lot of taps going. We tried all of them and that came out to eleven, which included two versions of the Scottish Ale, one which had habaneros in it. In fact at least two of the beers had habanero in it. Over all the beers aren’t bad but they’re nothing to get excited about either.

Naturally these guys have a beer club. Theirs is paid in installments which is probably a good idea considering who their target demographic is (ignorant beer nerds). According to the flyer on the counter $25 per month gets you "special Viven logo items", growler fill disounts, 10% off of merchandise, reservations for private parties (whatever that means), and probably the best one "Viven club appreciation barbeques". If I lived next door and I could trade the logo items for say, a free pint once a week, and I knew there was going to be a BBQ every month I would join that club. But I live nowhere near here, nor do I like their beer enough to want to stop here too many more times, so I’ll scroll past that club offer.

Over all they’re not bad but there are better breweries not too far away like Lost Abbey, Rip Current, and Pizza Port Bressi Ranch. Still a nice place to try some tasters. They don’t serve food but they do have food trucks outside.

Warehouse brewery tasting room, with a bar that would seat around 12, and plenty of other table space. Samples were relatively cheap and the beers weren’t bad. 12 total draft offerings. Bartender was very friendly; he gave us a free sausage with a pint of habanero IPA. Worth a stop in.
