Interesting looking place that does a bang up business. I stepped up to the very busy bar and was immediately helped by two different bartenders- impressive.Didn’t eat here and only stayed really for the one beer, but was worth the single stop.
Stopped here on my way to HOG National. Located a block away from the Tennessee Theater. Nice street level outdoor seating and downstair and upstairs bars. I went upstairs and asked for a sampler. Server was very freindly and offered bar listing of the brews. The menu was good pub food and was served well. Beers were good and had eight. Great visit and will stop on my way south.
I liked the place. Their seasonals were the best brews in my opinion. The Alt and Amber were my favorites (though they were out of stout and porter). Good steak, nice server who really tried to engage us in converstation about their brewing. Nice atmosphere, cool brewing set up (right in the middle of the floor), very comfortable. I’m sure I’ll be back.
Great place to enjoy a meal and some brews, especially if the weather allows a patio sitting. Nicely decorated interior also. They had 7 brews available at the time of my visit. I highly recommend the State Street Stout. Good selection of food.

Top notch! The IPA was excellent, as was their porter. Unfortunately, they were out of stout and didn’t have a seasonal when I visited (13 May 2005). The food was great, the prices reasonable, and the wait staff friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable. The ambiance was excellent as well, with the center of the two-floor room taken up by the brew kettle and mash tun, and the walls decorated with vintage shots of downtown Knoxville. Definitely worth a trip! Rerate--7 October 2006. Still an excellent stop. The quality and flavor of the beer is very consistent. Wait staff is still top-notch. Highly recommended.
Great food- the steaks are nice, try the empenadas, you’ll feel like a fat bastard but they are worth it. The service is okay to good, it depends on your waiter. Big place, good for large parties. They brew their own selection of rather nice beers and the copper is nice to look at. Patio on the nicest downtown street in K-town.
The best effort this long-beleaguered location. Service is still quite bad, with rude and inattentive/disinterested staff. Food is fair, and standard. Beer is uneven, but a fair selection. Still worth a visit.
The barley wine is good as is the Woodruff IPA. The sampler does it all. Food is well prepared and generous portions. Catch dinner and few brews and take a stroll down to the Bijou for a show. Nice place in the Old City.
A very decent brewery. Good food, great atmosphere. Nice set-up inside. Decent selection of brews, plus some others (water beers). Great place to go to for dinner and a beer, shoot some pool or watch some TV. Staff does know a few things about the beer that they brew.

Fresh beer and an extensive menu - a great combination. They serve their own beer, plus a few macros, but no other craft beer, and their brews are above average. The staff is attentive and for the most part, fairly knowledgeable.
