This is the other requisite stop in Somerville, right after putting your name in at Redbones. A great place to spend your hour plus wait on a weekend. Wonderful beer selection of micros and hard to finds. Staff has always been very knowledgeable on my visits, and was willing to place special orders for me. Much like the rest of davis square, the big knock here is parking. Here’s to hoping you go early or don’t mind walking from Cambridge!
Clean, well-lit, well laid out. Service was perfunctory but adequate. Great selection of regional micros and big name national micros. Decent selection of imports (mostly Belgian and British). Seems like half the floor-space is devoted to beer. Prices a bit on the steep side (as compared to NY State).
The good: Excellent selection of N.E. micros, you can break 6’ers which is a big plus. They carry most Stone and for an even bigger plus Midnight Sun beers.
The negative: Any talk about Boston will have to revolve around the horrific road situation. Ghastly roads, no road signs, streets that suddenly become one-way, blinking traffic signals, pedesterians just walking across the street, intersections with no traffic signals, no logical layout, etc.
The store is great but getting there will severely test your resolve or car insurance, thus the low overall.
