In the last couple of years, Dr. Jekyll’s have moved on from being just an exceptionally good whisky bar to becoming an equally exceptional beer bar. The bar usually offers 5-6 good Norwegian craft beers on draught (Ægir, Nøgne Ø, HaandBryggeriet) and they even plan to add another tower with 5-10 beer taps. But it is their amazing 200+ bottled beer menu that really makes this pub one of the best in Oslo - they’ve got real Belgian sours (Geuze, Kriek) and abbey ales, plenty of US craft beer (Boulevard, Bruery, Westbrook) in addition to many Norwegian, Danish and British micros. You can spend a week here without exhausting the beer menu. And the bartenders are fairly knowledgable about their beer too so Dr Jekyll’s is a truly great bar for beer and whisky, centrally located in Oslo near Nationaltheatret. Last visited: 2014-02-22.

This place does not have a big selection of beer. However, if you like whisky, this is the place to be in Oslo (and if you are prepared to pay a lot). they have some beers from Haandbryggeriet and some usual international lagers.
Went for a beer tasting in the basement so I didn’t spend that much time around the bar. What I noticed was a quite nice selection of bottles and one/two taps from Nøgne Ø. The staff was nice enough, a little inattentive on this occasion. I might go back for a whiskey or beer tasting in the future, but probably not on a regular basis. However, nice enough place if you’re in the area.
This is primarily a whisky-bar, but they do have some decent beer as well including several Haandbryggeriet ales that are not that common in Norway.
It is illegal to smoke inside bars and restaurants in Norway, but they have a secluded spot in the back with heaters for the winter.
Whiskey bar with some norwegian micros, otherwise pale lagers from the rest of the world. They’re pretty quick at getting new norwegian micros, so it’s a good place to check out new brews. I really like the atmosphere of this place, and finding the toilet door is a challenge. Staff is real friendly, although not very familiar with their beer selection.
