Great place, nice dark atmosphere inside and a nice patio. Big tap selection, although they were a bit light on stouts when I visited at the end of November. Only drawback: the bathroom was smelly like an outhouse, I wonder if it ever gets cleaned. Love the place but will avoid using the "facilities" there.
This is an interesting place that certainly makes you feel like you are in Texas. Small lot with cars in every direction makes parking fun. Large outdoor seating area in communal long picnic tables. About as spartan as possible inside. Nothing on the walls other than one TV, minimal space between the bar and the door, less between the business side of the bar and the back wall. Nowhere did I see any indication of what was on tap other than their own beers, which makes life interesting. The whole place smelled fairly strongly of industrial cleaner, which likely was in response to what it USED to smell like, as noted in a few reviews as well as a local who came in after me and seemed happy about it. No flights; the bartender said that they tried it once and it lasted less than a day. Primary problem is working space behind the bar, I guess. Whatever. They have half pours, so I got a couple halfs and headed outside. Neither were good. Cíest la vie. Canít recommend this place for their house beer, but with that many taps there is bound to be something worth drinking, and sitting outside has its benefits.
The best (and oldest) pure craft beer bar in Austin. The half-dozen house brewed beers are always very good and often excellent. Almost 80 taps provide a wide variety of styles from a wide variety of brewers. There is one TV which (thankfully) is always muted and usually off, and no muzak. Two dart boards. Thereís dark wood inside and a large beer garden outside. Bar service only, no waitstaff. You can wait awhile to get a beer when it is busy. No food, but a random food truck shows up at 5 pm every day. Free sausages at 5 pm on Saturdays. Cash is preferred, but they do take cards. Plenty of parking in lots nearby. This is a perfect place to have a really good beer and a really good conversation.
A bit run down pub-like place with lots of taps including few own ones which were not so good. Smell of unclean floor was the first thing I noticed. Nice service. Easy to combine this visit one with Pinthouse Pizza.
Visited 27.4.2016, early afternoon. Probably our favourite place in Austin. Looks like a pub - all dark and woody, with beer signs on the wall. Quiet, a neighbourhoody vibe, garden for those who like to sit outside and a brilliant selection on tap - plenty of local brews and a good curation all in all. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, too, that referred us to local shops. What more can you ask for?

Aw, hell yes. A buddy asked me to meet him here for a pint; Iíd never been. What was I missing? A little run down, really mellow, quiet enough you could hear but loud enough it wasnít a funeral, good beer, scruffy around the edges, and a real dartboard. Iím in love.
Met up with fly here around dinner time on a Wednesday. Neat older pub look as you approach, with a ton of outdoor sidewalk tables and benches. The interior is smaller, and very classic pub ambiance. The patio was busy that night, and there was a steady, organized stream of folks lining up to order beers at the bar. 70 or so beers on, many of which were from Texas and 6 beers that were brewed in house. All beers are listed clearly on a large digital menu above the bar. Service was efficient and handled the crowd well. Food was available via a pizza truck in the parking lot. I really liked the vibe and beer selection of this place. Thanks for meeting me out, fly!
88 = ★★★★ (best in area, a must for locals and visitors)
I only use the total score, not the component parts.
Great combination of an German beer garden outside and an English pub inside with a huge digital menu with an excellent and extensive selection. Highly enjoyable unpretentious atmosphere. What more could you ask for.
Strong contender for the best beer bar in Austin. Draught House has it all: an authentic old Austin vibe with a pub inside and bier garten outside, a massive and constantly updated selection of high quality beers on tap, a rotation of quality local food trucks, great service and excellent daily specials. Their anniversary party is also one of the best beer events in town with local and import rarities on tap. For real ale lovers there are always a few cask beers at the ready. Absolutely worth a visit or even becoming a regular.
Really awesome spot that combines old school English pub feel with technology. This is a total local joint, you almost feel out of place because literally everyone else was on a first name basis with the bar staff. About 70 drafts, all on 4 tvs. They focus heavily on Texas beers and a decent national beers. Their own beer, Bombay ipa, was killer. My only complaint is that with 70 beers they offer no flight program. They do let you have a taste or have a half pint, but this place could be a tickers heaven. Fun place that if I lived here would be my local spot for sure.
