Well, I am starting to really not like breweries in malls. The prices here are high, and so is the noise. The servers seem busy but still manage to not really do anything. While the food and beer are good, both are way overpriced.
managed to hit this place right as it opened... 6/13/2010. huge mall location with a fairly large modern designed pub not unlike tcb in tux but with less character. 9 beers on tap... a lot of them taste alike but they’re decent. food is respectable and a little typical. service is standard and a bit distracted given the fact that there were maybe ten full tables in the place. on the pricey side despite being under whelming.
Kind of small. Not a fan of brewpubs in malls. Decent atmosphere. Good food. Good beer. Decent prices.

Overall DuClaws is a pretty good place, and I would recommend it. The beers are mostly pretty good and the food is good and cheap (at the bar). The bar area itself has a decent atmosphere, but it should be bigger and have more seating. Service is pretty good. Check out their beer releases; they will give you a free glass just for showing up. The beers have some pretty stupid names but some are pretty good. Its nice to be able to just pick anything off the beer list and not worry about it being bad.
Surprisingly large brewpub located in an equally large shopping mall outside of Baltimore. This place is divided into seperate bar and dining areas and also surprisingly the restaurant seems much larger. The ambiance is kind of spare/modern/industrial - tall exposed ceilings, dark, metal etc. I spent a short time in the bar - didn’t sample any food. The beer theme seems kind of medieval or gothic and kind of gimmicky. Lots of someone’s time must be spent thinking up the slightly over the top beer names and writing up the corresponding long descriptions (which again are a bit gimmicky). Unfortunately none of their more highly rated beers were on and the highlighted beer (Mysterium - a Belgian spiced) was rather unimpressively served in a shaker and looked kind of glum. Service was OK if not a bit slow and distracted. My impression was that it’s not a particularly great beer destination (and so far I haven’t had any good beers from this brewer).
Great food, ok beer. It’s hard to get a table, which means many people like the food but the beer is overly sugary and tends to be less inventive than one might hope for. If you like their taste, it’s great (if not, they are less great). I’d ask for more variety in their beer.

Smallish place. They were packed when I went there but luckily I found a seat at the bar. Located in a massive upscale shopping mall. The ambience and the customers fit the setting. The customers seem to have never seen anyone taking beer notes before so I got lots of questions. The beer was overall very average, but there were lots of selections and nothing was particularly bad, with a few pleasant ones. There was a sampler available. I did not try the food. A little bit pricy. Miles and miles of parking. Overall fairly average and doesn’t really feel like a beer destination.
Stopped here during a recent trip to Baltimore.Located in a shopping mall. I was a bit disappointed in the beer. Everything was average and below. Even the Devils Milk was decent at best. Food was ok and the waitress nice. Seems like a decent crowd.
I tried the location out at Arundel Mills mall. Next to the theatre, parking is a pain. The beers on tap are all very good, solid beers. I really enjoyed the Venom Pale Ale, the stout, and the belgian quad. I just missed the Devil’s Milk barleywine by two days. Darn! Decor is contemporary industrial, and the bar is separate from the restaurant...nice. Decent food and good happy hour specials. Happy hour all day and all night on tuesday, and it’s PACKED. Only three miles from BWI rental car return, so it’s easy to stop in before catching a flight.
A few decent seasonals, and a very limited selection of staple beers. Growlers appear to be well-made. Arundmel Mills mall has alot to offer pretty much any consumer. And Duclaws can have great beer, just depends on the month.
