Bel posto molto turistico con selezione banale .. 2 birre della casa servite in stivali da litro e mezzo con le tue scarpe Come " cauzione " , divertente .. il servizio .. beh ti tollera

Visited on a Sunday evening. Place was totally packed, clientele seemed to be largely tourists. Drinking giant glasses of Kwak & doing the shoe thing. I opted out of doing that. It is similar to Delirium cave & the menu reflected that, more about numbers vs. qualities. Big list, little interesting. Staff was overworked. They were out of their own house beer which is just ridiculous, they were out of my second choice, eventually found a tick which was pretty rubbish. Quite a few beer struck me as being very expensive. Interior was really beautiful which I really enjoyed. They had a neat collection of old bottles & far cooler old cans.
went again- max beer and also a few better beers to choose between than last time

I sat outside on their patio on a warm Monday summer night and was surrounded by what I think were mostly tourists. I didn’t get a menu or anything but had to order from a small list which was attached to the window. Quite strange but I knew it beforehand. Quite large, high quality selection of Belgian classics only, nothing really exctiting though. Prices are on the higher side for Belgium, service was okay. Not my favourite place in Ghent but definitely good enough to have a nice beer.

Atmospheric old style Belgian boozer on the main square in Ghent. Interior is old world dark and dingy. Beer list is excellent although prices are high and extortionate for some things like the aged Oraval. I had a 24 months aed Orval for about 14Euros. I know, but I was tired and fed up because Waterhuis and lots of the other bars were closed for holiday (welcome to Belgium - they are still in the 1970s when it comes to opening hours). Beer was very good though and this was a good place to meet other fellow travellers. Tried the house blonde ale which was overly sweet. When I asked who brewed it for them the barman said ’we are not allowed to say’. Another bizarre service experience in Belgium. I’d come here again though. Like the atmosphere and it’s got an old fashioned feel to it. Sit out in the square if the weathers nice.
Another centrally located beer pub with a certain atmosphere and a good selection of Belgian beer. Service was fair and prices were not the lowest, but fair enough. Not a must visit in my book, but still worth a visit.
