The old Hotel Nepomuk. 1 house beer from Rittmayer. Other than that 3 micro taps - Huppendorfer, Ganstaller and Rittmayer again. Friendly and good service. Sitting outside in the late afternoons drinking Ganstaller Zwickl Pils was awesome! Great food as well! On our last day Zwickl Pils was out though. Having been there 5 people 4 nights in a row - we take our share of the blame. Re-rate 2014-2017. This is going dooown Hill. Last 4,5 visits the Gänstaller beers have been dirty. They made a deal with Drei Kronen to serve Them a monthly "dirty" special. Dirty taps and NO knowledge of beer in here. From 82-50.
Tourist attraction situated IN the river between two streams. Must be visited early, before it becomes the huge tourist trap. Maybe possible to find a Gänstaller vom Faß you haven’t tried. Not very beer-geeky. But location-geeky indeed.
The main event here is the Hotel Nepomuk, one of the most photographed in Europe for its position at the confluence of of two fast-flowing streams. The price and availability of rooms varies hugely but if you get an affordable price, click and go. You will remember it. Eckert’s is its restaurant, two meters above water level and mostly in light hardwoods. Five beers on draught usually includes at least one Gänstaller and other classics. The cooking, whether simple or contrived, is bang on. The small riverside terrace is great too and the Klösterbräu taphouse is out front. One of the great upmarket hotel-beer-venues of Europe.
The restaurant where we chose to have food on our trip. And it was great, also served with Eckerts and a Gänstaller Zwickelpils. That worked great. Staff was a bit busy, but we managed to get everything done. Location is in a beautiful spot directly on the river. The interior is modern with lots of clean wood, polished. I would definitely go there again.

A modern restaurant right on the Regnitz, with a beautiful terrace during summer. They serve Gänstaller Zwickelpils and one of their own beers. The young staff sometimes seemed a bit overwhelmed, but did a fine job. The food is very good and the prices fair for such a restaurant. Worth a visit to have a nice meal!
