A nice brewery housed in a historic building in downtown Ellicott City. The brewery is just beyond the glass from the bar dining area, just across from the bar itself. There were 8 house beers available, all quality brews. The food was quite good and service very friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you are nearby.
Nice location just on the edge of downtown Ellicott City. Old pub vibe, nice space with cellar and second floor seating. Four standard taps, four seasonals. Well rounded menu with a few German specialties. Pleasant surprise while passing through town.
The ratebeer product of our weekend with friends in Ellicott City. This is in the old downtown, which is small but quaint. Plenty of street parking on a Sunday evening, which was nice. Old building with some character. Two levels, perhaps three. Eight beers on tap, mostly German styles, but they had an APA when I was there as well. Flights are pick four; not sure how much actually. Service was patient given the number of kids we had, food was solid, beer was pretty mediocre. At least I got a few Dunkel ticks.
Nice place, the old building has character, service is good. Good locally brewed beer. They often have interesting specials like wild boar. The rest of the menu is your standard fare: burger, crab cake sandwich, Caesar salad, etc. Solid option if dining in Ellicott City.
Located in very charming historic Ellicotville. Parking can be an outright pain the ass. Big place, narrow, with several floors. We stayed on the main floor. Server was friendly and helpful. The food was very expensive and while not bad, it was not worth the price. 4 x $5ish ounce sampler and they gave me small tastes of a few more. The beers are very lager heavy, which is cool. Not often can you go to a brewery and have three dunkler bocks in a row. But, there were some flaws. Lots of diacetyl and one beer was un-drinkable. Fortunately several of the beers were drinkable.
I’ve been here a few times. Really nice building. Located in an old mil. The downstairs is a bar with a German Alpine look going up the stairs and the railings. Downstairs you can see the tanks. Upstairs is a open room. Really nice with christmas tree lights strung overhead. The service is usuall very good. A good selection of beers. Mostly german style. The dark beers I think are best. The food is good. Really like the sausage sampler. Nice place.
Very cool building right on the main drag, several levels and a loft. Friendly staff. Four regular beers and four seasonals on draft. Beers are decent enough, but a bit dilute. Food was OK, but heavy on the fried stuff. A decent stop if passing by.
Ate here with the family early June 2012. Great little town. The place was quaint and had a downstairs area with a bar and an upstairs loft area. The beers were 8 strong, ranging from OK to above average, but no outstanding ones. The food was above average but nothing to write home about. My wife got a stale pretzel roll for her sandwich. My chicken chesapeake was delicious. Overall a nice place, but not a great place overall. Service was good at first, but got bad at the end.
