New location north of town is cozy in either winter or summer. The new address is 1370 N Long Lake Rd, not what’s listed above. Beers are good and their pizza is the menu highlight. Kid friendly (as most in Michigan are) so that makes it appealing to bring the family. Any of the ratings below based on the description of location are not accurate anymore.

I wish I could like this place, I really do. I thought the ambiance was quite comfortable, and they’ve obviously put a lot of effort into the place. The service was outstanding. The two young ladies behind the bar explained everything to us, engaged in conversation about the beers, and kept checking on us while we sat We had a special BLT sandwich which was pretty good, too. The problem, then, is the beer. In a word, it’s nasty. We acquired samples of nine of the twelve available (we skipped the ones that sounded like they were intended for Coors drinkers), and couldn’t stomach a single one. Some of them tasted vaguely to style, but I was reminded of home brew, even though they claim to be a grain brewery. My wife thought a couple of the beers tasted like "dirty rags." I hate being so tough on them because they had a wide variety of styles and seemed to be experimenting with some things, which I appreciate. But we didn’t even finish the samples. They were simply undrinkable. To recover we jumped back on our bikes and rode five miles to the Blackthorn Pub in Holly, where we drowned our miseries in wonderful Rogue Nitro Stout.

I generally don’t have time to rate places, but thought I needed to chime in to give a different perspective from the previous review. Paintedmaple must have been having a really bad day when he wrote his review. I love this place! Been visiting for about 1-1/2 years, and their new expansion is great! The decor reminds me of a cross between a wine bar and a coffee house - warm, relaxing, and with some lounge chairs that are great for chilling. Lots of games to pass the time. With their new 12 tap beer line up, plus 22 wines (3 on draft!), there’s something for everybody in your party. 8 regular beers on tap with 4 rotating. They tend to always have some unique beers available on rotation - a Bourbon Hopped Russian Imperial Stout and, if I remember correctly, a new barrel-aged Scottish Wee Heavy releasing soon, just to name a few. This place is definitely worth checking out when you’re in the area! They have a nice food menu. Simple, but a great compliment to the beverages. You can definitely fill yourself up. I try to get there on Friday or Saturday nights when they have some great local musicians playing on stage.

This place seems to strive to be a comfortable, cool lounge, however it comes off as awkward and cheesy. In a small strip mall, the interior walls are blood red and little electric fireplaces "burn" about the place. I was drawn in by the number of high gravity beers on tap that they make on site. I tried two and while not bad; they were uninspired, suprisingly thin, and simple. I would describe the food similarly.
