Great location near Wenc. Square but full of Czechs; imagine that? Good food (get the meat and cheese board) and excellent Ferdinand beer. Try the Sedm Kuli beer (7 Bullets) named for the # that killed Archduke Franz whom the brewery is named after.

Visited on 12th July. Below Street level restaurant in the New Town. Large single room, modern clean decor, light shades are upturned buckets. 4 beers on tap from 5 on menu including a Polotmavy. Food was good and some meals come with a free small beer. Prices decent, service good. Solid enough place to stop for food and a scoop.

Visited for lunch on Wednesday 12/07/17. Set down just below street level the Ferdinand restaurant / tap had about 10 wooden tables on its tiled floor doing a brisk trade for lunch. Decor is clean and simple, plants in the window sills, coat stands made from old rakes, hammers on the table forming the salt and pepper holder. 4 beers on tap 11 light and dark, 12 and 13 (top 50 polotmavy). We had a bowl of goulash which came with a small beer for just £5. Service was decent and the guy spoke English. Overall a decent lunch stop with 4 rates offered.

Decent place which we used to get out from the rain. Pleasant ambiance. Five or six of Ferdinand beers on tap. Dran Sedm Kuli which was quite good. Worth stopping by for a quick beer or two if you’re nearby.

My wife and I really liked this place: visited on 3rd Oct 2014. We used the downstairs room, did not venture upwards. Long white walled room with the bar to your right as you descend the short flight of stairs. Basic wooden furniture and a rural feel to the place. The lampshades are silver coloured buckets, the coat racks are rake heads and the menu/condiment holder most likely a hammer head design although there were other styles too. Only four beers available on our visit, usually five I am lead to believe. Mixed customers and full, we sat with two local lads who had both travelled a lot but came from Prague. Staff fine and the beers OK, we took to the strongest on offer: ’7 Bullets’, it came in it’s own badged vase shaped 0.4 litre glass. Prices good for the location. Most people seemed to be eating and the food looked plentiful and good, but we had already had food. Score looks poor, but that is because of the beer selection, so not a true reflection of the place.

Good beer from Benesov and really nice food. Staff almost everytime is good, fast and friendly, but the place is spoiled by russian tourists so you have a chance to have some bad receptions.

We were in Prague and were lucky enough to have a friend of my wife’s who had settled their a few years back. She suggested this place the first night we were in the city and we proceeded to go back each of the next two days we were in Prague. Traditional Prague bar, cafeteria style sitting allows you to mingle with the locals who were always there and friendly. There were 4 beers (one was a light/low alc% beer which I did not try) available and all 3 that I tried were great. I especially enjoyed the dark lager. Food was available and it was tasty. Again very traditional Czech food which we all enjoyed immensely. Try the fried cheesy garlic bread as an appetizer, fantastic! As any place that is not a tourist trap, normal Czech prices at this gem, so for most it will be very affordable. Great place all around! Edit, The address on the website (which I used on this review) is not the same for the restaurant I went to. The correct address is: Politických vězňů 19 110 00 Praha 1 You will not be disappointed! Cheers!

A nice place to sample Ferdinand beer. Not my favourite brewery but the draught beers are better than bottled. I did not eat this time, but have fond memories of a tasty lunch here in 2009. Worth the visit if only two try beer from Ferdinand. (Visited 24th February 2012)
