Has a bit of franchise feel to the decor that didn’t appeal to me. 14 drafts on, half seasonals. They offer samples for tastings of anything so a decent play to tick if you just want the tick. Quality of the beer was lacking greatly, most things were overly sweet. An interesting raspberry helles and amber with brown sugar. No need to come for the beer. The food was better than expected. I might come again to eat if in a pinch but I’d skip the drinks.
Had moved to new location not too long ago. Nice old school store front with lots of windows. Right away someone served us even when they were kinda busy. Freindy staff, like Jen and Mgr. Brandon. They spent time listening and answering questions. Food was tasty, liked the beer infused brats. Creative stuff was on menu. Beers were solid. Saw an endless group come in and purchase growlers to take home. Must visit again!
Great restaurant/brewpub at the southwest corner of the city square. Plenty of seating - open with tons of windows. Nice selection of regulars and specials. Definitely worth a stop if in the area. The only brewpub in the area with a full menu.
Finally getting around to rating this place, with probably near a dozen visits under my belt...both at the original location on the west end of town and in the current downtown location. Modern feel to the current location - lots of tables, and it is often busy at the preferred times. Service is hit or miss, but usually pretty good - never been offered a free taste or anything, but the lower ABV samples are quite reasonable (big jump in price for >10% tastes). Beers are also hit or miss, but I can say they have been continually improving over the past couple years, and many of their higher (>8%) ABV offerings are quite good - and their stabs at both Belgian and BA types have been pretty solid! Seems like 7-9 taps up most of the time with something for everyone - a watermelon wheat which I find offensive was a favorite of my wife’s aunt. Food is relatively average...maybe slightly above average, but it is a bit pricey for what you get. Again, I continue to see improvement, so I have high hopes for this establishment - glad it is in Valpo!
Beer is pretty good. I have had most of the regular brews and have never regretted getting a growler of any of them. However, food is a much different story. Portions are small, they try being fancy with their plating, it’s overpriced, and the flavors are just not there. Get a beer and pass on the food, even the appetizers. Great location though.
Easy to find.
Parking is good.
Clean clean clean!!!
Lots of seats.
Service is fast and friendly.
Let me sample before I even asked.
As I type this a worker in a red shirt just dropped the F Bomb multiple times, common let me finish the review!!!
Open modern feeling restaurant/bar. Service was ok, but the place wasn’t busy enough to warrant our server’s level of distraction. Food is average sandwich offerings. We were there at dinner time, and I would have preferred entree offerings to go with my beer, which was solid.
West heading out of town in strip location with Small building sign. Parking in front. Small location with 6 window seats and 2 tables. Listing of brews on table with ordering at window to brewing area. Freindly and prompt with a sampler of 6. Good beers. Worth the visit when in area.
In driving out to Figure 8 from the Hammond area, you would think this place would be IN the city limits of Valpo. But you drive til you?re out in the middle of nowhere practically. But it is a great location for a new entrant to the craft scene. Loved the feel of the place. Customer service was top-notch. The brews are also very good. Figure 8 is a must stop if you?re in the area - but don?t blink or you?ll miss the place (like i did).
