Located 1/2 a mile from Downtown, this place isn’t much to look at from the outside. Inside it’s got to be one of the best craft beer stores in this part of the state. Lots of local, regional, and national craft arraigned by geography, They also had a large selection of cider and mead which is nice to see. The staff was friendly and seemed happy to talk beer. I’ll definitely stop by the next time I’m in the area.
A very good selection, a notch down quantity but not quality-wise from Beers of the World. Helpful friendly staff and nice store, but they are only average in their knowledge of beer and what they had, but they try. The stock turns pretty good, and there were a few beers not carried elsewhere. I did not have to go out of my way to get here rather than buy everything Beers of the World, but I would recommend it to anyone passing through. Prices are fair. Nicely laid out, and they let you use the bathroom.
Definitely feels like you’ve walked into a basement or something, but there’s a ton of stuff here, especially for what would seem like the kind of town where you might not find such a nice selection. Going by how fast certain limited selection stuff vanishes from the shelves near me, and the amount of those same things still left on the shelf here, I can tell they probably don’t get a ton of demand for certain things, which makes it more impressive that they carry stuff that may run the risk of not moving. Found a number of things I don’t get back home including a few ciders. Didn’t really interact with the staff much. Prices seemed pretty good. Worth a stop if you’re in the area.
Great little beer shop in downtown Ithaca. Tons of local selections and some nice imports - about four-five beer aisles in total. Friendly service and the prices weren’t bad for local bombers - cheaper than in NJ.
A nice medium size store with a bit of a messy mom-and-pop-store feeling. Good selection of American micros with pretty much all the breweries available in the NY state (Rogue, Lagunitas, Bear Republic, etc.). Captain Lawrence, the pride of the NY state, was missing in action. The American selection is superior to Wegmans (a few blocks away) but the smallish import section is inferior to Wegmans. I don’t think it compares to the best beer stores in eastern NY state (Albany and NYC) and I don’t even think it is as good as Premier Gourmet in Buffalo. But it is probably the best center-state store. Don’t forget to complement your shopping at Wegmans, walking distance from there.
If you’re staying in or driving through Ithaca, this place is a must stop. Their singles selection may be the best that I’ve seen with an endless selection of local bottles in addition to cool limited stuff like Cigar City Guava Grove, Rodenbach Vintage, and the Hanssens experimental lambics. Simply amazing beer shop.
Nice, compact beer store with lots of goodies. Lots of singles, lots of New York stuff and even quite a few bottles you can’t find in the bigger stores. Friendly staff. They have some growler taps as well. Great if you’re in the area.
This place is heaven for someone tired of the lack of selection and high prices in Pennsylvania. A really nice selection of Belgians, Germans, English, locals, regional, and country wide good beers. Singles. Growlers. Great prices! I dont know what else to say. One of the more enjoyable beer stores Ive ever been to!
I’ve never made it up to Beers of the World, but this place has a great selection that can stand on its own! I found nearly 30 beers to try -- the fact that I’m not a local undoubtedly helped, but given how many I’ve had, it’s been a long time since I found so many new beers for purchase at one place. Top-notch, and definitely worth a visit if you’re passing through.
