Our first visit to Flossmoor Station was for pre-DLD 2008. Housed in the old Flossmoor Train Station, this brewpub is has so much ambiance. The area surronding the pub is full of interesting shops as well. The place was packed when we arrived. The back was reserved for the DLD attendees. The staff was unbelievable!! With so much going on, so many people running around and visiting, I don’t know how they kept up. Our waiter never wrote anything down and our orders were always correct and fast. The special beers were all great. The Chessie Cherry Wheat Ale was my favorite Flossmoor Beer. . Hubby had the macho nachos and they were super good. I had the Port O-Bello Gouda Chicken. It was fabulous!! This is a place I would defiantly visit again and again if it wasn’t 6 hours from home!!
Went early for Pre-DLD party. It started around 5:30 and I got there around 4. I wanted to check it out before it got too busy. We first sat in the restaurant area and asked our server some questions about the festivities for the evening. She was very nice and pointed us in the direction of the bar while we waited for the Pre-DLD party to start. Matt came up to us and talked with us for a few minutes and was a all around great person. Food was way above average for bar food and they had around 12 beers on tap. Atmosphere was made up of a broad range of people that added to the ambiance. Pre-DLD brews in the back when tapped were amazing with Sarge and Wooden Hell to name a couple. Overall, if I live near this place I’d be a regular easily. Great food, great beer, and great people make this an easy stop for me next time I’m in town.

I like the train station atmosphere of this brew-pub. The wait staff is efficient and friendly, but generally not beer talkers, unless you stop there while Matt, the brewmeister is working. With luck, he’ll pour you some samples of new stuff he is working on (that is not available to general public yet). There is nothing wrong with the food (I like the chili), but their main attraction is the selction of beer.
since flossmoor station started their mug club, i had tot raise their rating. they are my favorite (and friendly) place to hang out.

Ambiance - A mixture of craft beer fans and locals with a wide range of backgrounds.
Service - Is amazing, but that’s most likely cause I’m on a first name basis with almost all the bartenders (<3 to Annie and Becky!).
Selection - The specialties are almost always above average if not exceptional
Food - Despite the owner’s delusion of the quality of the food, it’s extremely mediocre. People only eat here, or think the food is good, is because there’s not much else of a choice in this area.
Value -No mini-pint bullshit like FFF does with their DIPA’s, you can get full pints of everything except barrel aged beers.
Wow. I was in town for a conference and stopped by here. This place was near perfection. I ordered a beer sampler and they brought me 16 different brews they had on tap. The food was high quality bar food - fish and chips were fantastic, and the pulled pork sandwich was quite good. Good service and a great local selection. And the aura was exactly what I want/expect from a local brewpub.
The perfect brewpub: incredible beers served in an old historical building with dubious food. New brewmaster Matt VanWyck has big shoes to fill with Todd Ashman's departure, but what I've tasted by him so far has been well up to standard, and a planned expansion for lagering facilities is very promising.
What a fantastic place this is. Nice train station theme with beautiful wood, a great bar, some fantastic beers, and they really laid it all out for us on DLD weekend. Wait staff was extremely friendly in spite of the fact that they were crazy busy. I’d recommend this place to everyone! The Bacon Cheeseburger rocked too. Good Stop for anyone that loves good beer and good atmosphere!

Son of a bitch do I love this place! Food: dead on! Decor: unbeatable. Beer: thick, expertly crafted, and of staggering variety. I had a waitress who was kind of a goofball, but she couldn’t ruin this place with a torch. All aboard for Flossmoor Station!
