I mean, yeah, this place is pretty much great. You CANNOT beat $2.50 pint night... anything on tap. That includes Dogfish Head Punkin and Optimator among many others. wowee. PS you can’t smoke here anymore, and it’s also in within walking distance of the Grasshopper club, and if any of you out there have ever walked by there on a Saturday night, u know what I’m talkin’ bout!!!
The Flying Saucer is a great place to go and have a beer. Pick a beer, any beer. They probably have it. A massive beer menu coupled with a great location and you get a fun place to hang out. They have a large amount of indoor seating, but don’t let that fool you, this place fills up. Their food is nothing to write home about, average bar fare, nothing more, nothing less. If I just want to hang out and enjoy a beer I’ve probably missed elsewhere, I come to the Flying Saucer.

Why haven’t anyone rated this before me, the place is nothing less than outstanding!!! Huge tap selection (85!) and bottle selection, great atmosphere and music, excellent and cheap food!! This is one of the best beer bars I have ever visited!! They even let you make your own sample tray of all their drafts so that you can taste as many different as possible!!
Update: after all these years still my favourite beer destination, love this place!! .....dec’07-Went 4 my birthday, and for specail group tastings.. . Comfortable aura when you walk in. Friendly and fairly knowledgeable (and cute) waitresses. Beer selection is probably the best in Houston. The food can be low end to high grade (the beer cheese soup was ..well, crap). This place seems to know what they are doing....
never had the food, but they have one of my favorite beers on tap and ive never seen it on tap anywhere else. darn good selection of beers.

A great bar because of the selection. With so many beers on tap, a great place to get some ratings done. The food is very good, the sandwiches are really good and the pizza is as well. The only problem is when busy takes a while to get a beer. Besides that a great place to get hammered and watch the game with several televisions and a huge projection screen.
Was a little shocked when I first walked in because it was extremely busy. This was understandable though because it was trivia night and the NBA Eastern Conference Finals were on. No worries, I finally found a spot at the bar and was promptly asked if I needed some help. The bartenders are extremely friendly and were generously giving me tasters of different beers once they realized how into beer I was. Huge selection of taps and bottles, with some pretty quality stuff. My favorite thing about this place is the numerous flight options you can choose from, plus you can build your own. Awesome. The only knock I had was it was very loud, but I kind of enjoyed it that night. A great place to catch a game with friends, but get there early because you seat yourself and space is limited on a busy night. Great food and great prices. This was my favorite spot in Houston because of the great service and fun atmosphere. If I was going out with my wife I would probably hit the Hay Merchant, but if you want to try a bunch of different beers and have a lively night, this is the place to go. Great people and a lot of fun.
Very large beer emporium with many different taps and bottled selections. Sometimes a tiny bit pricey, otherwise really great place with attractive waitresses. They have a cover charge and is often crowded.
Was invited to go by Gram (Suds McDuff) and have been back a couple of times with him since, last time, he was wearing a suit and felt quite a relief. Too many beers, i just asked what i would like, and they set me up perfectly. the reuben sandwich is amazing! if it wasn’t so far away, i would go all the time!
