Just off the centre, unpromising from the outside and a bit of a barn inside but a superb range of beers - US and imported - and simple long bar makes this a great place to while away half a day. Nice staff too.
Nice place. It can get crowded but Iíve still always managed to get a nice table at some point. They seem to keep some usual bottles on hand, as they dont seem to cycle through nearly as much as I would like. The taps do cycle through and the variety is awesome. Hit or miss on waitress but not by much nor often.
This place is all about the beer, and thatís the way it should be. It gets REALLY loud in there, and can be hard to find a seat some times. But the beer selection is rather amazing for a bar, and the staff are great.
Definitely should ask about being a member of the UFO club - you get to keep track of all the beers youíve had at this place, and if you try 200 different ones, you get your name on a plate that goes on the wall and $100 towards an unveiling party.
Food is OK, and there isnít much of a selection of it. Not a place I would go for a dinner, but great for a happy hour.
Big, big selection. Lots of local beers and stuff from all over the States. A flight of five beers will run you between $8 and $10. Also, the flights are predetermined, but the bartender had no problem subbing one out for me. The service was really good considering how busy they were. It looks like they have an efficient system going on behind the bar. Not only a must hit for visitors, but one that I would hit again and again if I was a local.
Pretty cool place...wish we had one where I live. Lots of good beer with good flights for people not knowing what they want or wanting to try different beers other than the flights normal places do. I got one from Germany with all beers I have never heard of.
Wow! What an awesome place! Iíve lived in Raleigh my whole life and Iím really glad to have this in the capital city. The beer selection is fantastic, the food is really good, and the waitresses are beautiful!
Large place, lots of buzz and people. Huge selection of good local and international brews. Ok service but not the place I want to hang out every day.

If youíve seen one Flying Saucer youíve seen them all. Lots of wood and polished brass and plates as far as the eye can see. Apparently if you drink something like 200 different beers you get a plate with your name on it and the chance to write something pithy. Tons of taps lots of bottles. Nothing too out there although they had a number of local taps which is always appreciated. The food was solid although insanely overpriced. I got like 8 wings for $8 and weíre not talking Quaker steak here. As mentioned in the previous post the fact that the waitresses are all required to dress like 13 year old reform school students with barely there skirts is off putting. I think we can all enjoy craft beer without the environment of casual sexism.
Been here a few times after WBF and for special events. Big selection, which is nice, but only a few that stand out for this beer knurd. Waitresses are required to wear sexy little mini skirts which is nice when you are drunk and seems more sexist when youíre sober. Very bustling and busy which is a little off-putting for me, but I understand. Lot of rabbits hopping around Raleigh making babies. Cheese fries are also delish when drunk.
