Excellent downtown location in a very cool building. Very large dining area with a long bar in the back. There is also a room upstairs that was hosting a party on the night I went. The food was excellent. The beers ranged from above average to excellent. The prices were very reasonable. The staff seemed well-informed and overall happy to be there. A must for beer enthusiasts and an excellent choice for dining even if beer is not your thing.
What a cool place. We walked in and said that we were from out of town. They gave us a tour and poured us a sample flight of every beer on draft! The bartender (can’t remember his name, guy with a ponytail) was cool as hell. Also met one of the assistant brewers and he sent us home with a free growler. We planned on stopping for an hour and ended up staying for almost 3. Such a cool place with cool people. A can’t miss stop in the area.
This was a treat for me to stop here on the way to Brewsgrass. The manger was the one behind the bar serving and was really friendly and knew her beers.Everything that the had to offer was available, no outs.Of course I had asked for the Sexual Chocolate and she chuckled and kindly explained that it will be out In February. The big hit was the Seeing Double IPA.I will definately be back.

Foothills is a wonderful brewpub. The service at the bar is excellent. Some of their brews are excellent while some are not so good....try the sampler....it is a great deal!

Attended Foothills Sexual Chocolate release, due to weather conditions they were kind enough to let us come in to bar early (instead of making us wait outside). This brewpub has a really nice setup, with the bar(s), seating area, dual level, etc. The staff (at least for this event) were top notch not one thing to complain about. The beer selection was highlight by ’10 & ’09 Sexual Chocolate, but outside of that they carried their normal selection. Did not get a chance to eat, but those who did appeared happy with what they got. Overall this is a good little brewpub, decent selection, good brew, nice place, and great staff.
I’d been wanting to visit for quite some time and was pleased once I finally did. The Bartender was cool and knew a lot about the various offerings. The place is big and the atmosphere lively but it’s not too loud. Didn’t get to try any food. You simply MUST visit this place when in Winston-Salem.
I attended the Barrel Aged Sexual Chocolate release so obviously the place was packed. Can’t comment on a "normal" day but I wouldn’t be surprised if this got busy on a regular basis. The place itself is rather large, with one area seemingly more geared towards dining and the other a bar area but there isn’t much of a divider and you get the brewpub atmosphere wherever you are. Very cool outdoor seating as well. Located right downtown, no parking on site but plenty of garages nearby. All the beers I’ve tried have been very good. I didn’t get to try the food, wanted to, but it looked like good pub food. The service was pretty good considering how many people where there. Thought the staff did a great job. Excellent place. I’d love it if this were my local brewpub.
Great beer, great food, and great people. This is a must visit for folks in the Winston area. The Seeing Double IPA and the People’s Porter were my top choices. Bartender was very knowledgeable and friendly. Food was wonderful. NC needs more brewpubs like Foothills!
